Smith has said multiple times he’s after inside opportunities. He won’t make our midfield better. It’s good as it is. Much bigger issues elsewhere on the ground.

Ward, Mackenzie and MacDonald all waiting for opportunities as well.

Half back flank it is then for Smith!

The only way the cats trump us re- smith is the guaranteed high minutes in the midfield for basically rest of his career. İt won't be the money or the destination in this case. Pick 3/4 though , now that definitely will be in dogs sight.
Discounted powder from Jimmy B too don't forget, as well as the cheap land packages.

B Smith still in play. A bit to play out here.

I'm happy to go early crow on it. If its wrong, it's only Chol.

650 pages into a draft thread with nothing solid and every player available choosing other clubs, why do you find it hard to believe we won’t get Chol?

No chance. Dogs will want our first at the minimum.

Smith isn’t worth even a second rounder in my opinion. Dosen’t tackle and way too soft.

He's worth a first. He's quality.

I'd just be worried Cats will tempt him with the usual beach bum parlour tricks nonsense. We need to throw our cash at him, as we have serious cash reserves to burn (with McKay out, we'd surely have to be close to cap base at this point).

Industry knows the cliff is coming. Equalization always has and always will catch up.

In saying that, it does feel like Geelong is more likely - and to be honest, it would make sense for Smith - but I hope we're doing everything in our power to get him. We'd have a premiership winning midfield with him in top form.

B Smith is a modern day football brand more than a football superstar

People keep remembering and going on about his first year or was it two, but his subsequent years have been well below that

Hence the question, does he want to be a champion of the game or is the easy money in and out of footy enough to keep him satisfied

I feel there is a fair bit of reprogramming that has to occur in the hope he would be the player everyone expected him to become

Buyer beware but at the right price you would take him on

We need to bring him to Dingley to get him over the line.

Bowes and Bruhn wouldnt be happy. Particularly Bowes. Would be career over after his 3 years run out.

if we were able to get Smith and with McKenzie and Hustwaite would Day be the general down back with Sicily. Don’t get me wrong love Day in mids but he went down back several times when we were in trouble this year

Wouldn’t want to be giving much away for Smith. Classy player but always tries to be the hero and it doesn’t often come off.

We need to be using our trade capital on KPP.

Ralphsmith could still turn out to be a very handy player and would be cheap as chips.

I dont want us giving up our first for anyone it’s the best pick in ages with stars available. Need to either dilute the ask by giving someone like Scrimshaw who the dogs desperately need they don’t have any intercept outside Liam Jones and he’s 33. Or we should be giving port 30 and f2 for their f1 and 44 to ensure we retain a first round presence next year. Then our f1 for Bailey Smith feels better

First to admit that I'm not sure I've ever seen him play, but his stats are pretty bad.

Where would we play him & how could we make him good?

No - Richmond will just get him to put a front loaded price on his contract to get him. Also Norf have Larkey so have little need for Kosi. The PSD is a meaningless threat. It’ll get done for a reasonable price in the trade period.
Wrong North was interested and need a CHF
