Due to a number of factors, support for the current BigFooty mobile app has been discontinued. Your BigFooty login will no longer work on the Tapatalk or the BigFooty App - which is based on Tapatalk.
Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Really? So they give permission for every club to 'cheat', instead of just providing a huge advantage to one outfit who happen to wear blue and white hoops?Did u know there is not even a standard dimension for soccer pitches. Even in the EPL

Yep, we got shafted playing Collingwood twice at the MCG this year. I'm all for playing away games at the MCG but no reason to be playing home games at the MCG against big teams.Saw the new stand on the AFLW game in the background…
Looks very impressive .. will be a real sight to behold once it’s done.
38k capacity to maybe push to 40k with full SRO…
Hard to not get any team to KP now at least once very 3-4 years
No excuses and big club bullshit anymore.
I’ll save the home final arguments until we actually play in finals.
Go Catters
Great pic. Amazing to see how much bigger roof panels are for new stand.Nothing overly new to take from this, but interesting nonetheless. Nearmap has just put up the latest Geelong sattelite imagery, from the 14th of september. 5 roof panels in place by then, and my word they're dominated by those solar panels!View attachment 1819685

Geelong Bank pic- taken from hotel room at Rydges. No idea about aqua blue building though.
Yeah lights are huge, but I really like them. Makes the ground a real central reference point in the city. When you drive up Moorabool from foreshore, at times it’s looks like you can touch the top of them because of the rise and fall of the city.
Having said that, I don’t live next to them.
Collingwood get a guaranteed 5 away games at the MCG each year and there are only six other teams who play MCG home games (Us, Dees, Hawks, Tigers, Blues and Dons). So essentially the Pies have to play all but one of us away each year plus half at home as double ups (how's the for fairness). The AFL signs these stupid contracts which compromise the fixture and then play dead fish when called out on it.Seems like Melbourne gets shafted every season by having to play us at GMHBA, why not Collingwood?
As Tyzza says, probable just a linking concourse between the stands, but it is a similar size (about one bay of seating wide) to the video screen at the other side of the Hickey Stand. Is there anything going in this section circled? More standing room?

A third screen? Probably not but perhaps it could work.

Updated screens wouldn’t hurt at all- the current versions are terrible in bright sunlight. A panoramic design hiding the two Hickey Stand access ramps would be great!

I used to sit in the old reg hickey behind the goals. When they put in the NIB screen I thought it was great, but gee it was tiny. Anything has to be an upgrade on that.Along with the lack of mobile reception, the ‘big’ screens are the biggest letdown about the stadium. Near impossible to view from the top of the Players Stand, couldn’t imagine what the new stand will be like
They should give 3D glasses to people in the Brownlow stand then broadcast the screens in 3D so that you have giant holograms of the match in the middle of the ground, how awesome would that be!!As Tyzza says, probable just a linking concourse between the stands, but it is a similar size (about one bay of seating wide) to the video screen at the other side of the Hickey Stand.

My issue is that they've been faulty all season. Both screens have damaged panels. They were ok when first installed, but surely those in charge noticed they look like crap.Updated screens wouldn’t hurt at all- the current versions are terrible in bright sunlight.
I sat in the GAT but ground level right on the 50M line, Row C.I used to sit in the old reg hickey behind the goals. When they put in the NIB screen I thought it was great, but gee it was tiny. Anything has to be an upgrade on that.

They regularly have open training sessions during the term break school holidays - not sure any the summer holidays thoughDoes the club still do those open days? IIRC in January during the school holidays.
Would be good to get a good look at the new stadium.
most of the members are located outside GeelongGeez it’s starting to look impressive. Now let’s play ALL home games at our home ground! Enough of this Victorian club crap. We are Geelong! Not “a Victorian club playing in Melbourne” when it’s suits the agenda!
most of the members are located outside Geelong
Yep true and I’m one of them but I want all home games at HOMEmost of the members are located outside Geelong
Same basically.I’m a member of over 30 years. 15 of those years I’ve lived 6 hours from Geelong after moving for work. I’m not a member so I can attend games. I’m a member to support the club I love. If 11 home games in Geelong at OUR home ground means a better chance of team success then I couldn’t give a stuff if most our members are outside Geelong. If there was a chance (obviously would never happen!) to play a grand final at the MCG or in Geelong would you still want it played at the G because there are more members in Melbourne or in Geelong where we have a better chance of winning? I just believe we are Geelong and shouldn’t be grouped with the 8 other Victorian clubs when it suits the AFL to do so. Funny the “Victorian final” only became a thing when we were successful and pushing for finals in Geelong.
