I have multiple times the subject of the two Duursmas playing together being talked about. I cnat see how Ess make that happen. If it was a real important thing... X would stay at Port and wait to see where is brother lands...
For Ess to get Z .... they would have to trade with the Hawks ... . Cant see it happening.
I reckon there's already a deal in the works, and I think that's how Reid gets done.
Something along the lines of:
Essendon -
OUT: Picks 9, 30 & Future 1st (8-12ish)
IN: Pick 3 (McKay compo)
North -
OUT: Picks 2 & 3
IN: Picks 1, 22 & 30
West Coast -
OUT: Picks 1 & 22
IN: Picks 2, 9 & Future 1st
******************
There's just a lot of rumours of Zane already being earmarked to be paired up with Xavier - so they need North's Pick 3 to make that a certainty. If all this happens, Hawks likely pick McKercher or Watson and Dogs pick the other 1 of the 2. That's when Sanders becomes a live possibility.
That all looks quite even. Hasn’t been discussed in the media has it of a 3 way trade?
Lot for Ess to give up to get brothers together.
Nah it hasn't, just me spitballing and seeing how it could all work.
I think if Essendon finish similar again, that moving from 9 > 3 for a Future 1st and a nothing pick 30, isn't entirely ridiculous, IMO.

It goes so much deeper than on the field for them too.Yeah apparently not selecting a KPP again...it's like they want to lose again so they can ask for more PP's next year.
Reid though, I get it. I would move heaven and earth to get him to the club if it was even a remote possibility. He's not just the best talent in this draft, he's possibly the best talent we've seen since GAJ/Judd/Dusty etc. Can play all three thirds of the ground, and is dominant everywhere.
We've never seen anything like this kid before.
Same.To the point where if they win a flag with this new group it will just be viewed as a charity premiership. I would find it a very hollow victory if it eventuates if I was a Roos fan.
Pretty sure they'd take any flag they could get and cherish it like their first born after such a period of utter obscurityTo the point where if they win a flag with this new group it will just be viewed as a charity premiership. You'd be surprised how arrogant their supporters can be seeing as they follow a club that is the very definition of mediocre.Pretty sure they'd take any flag they could get and cherish it like their first born after such a period of utter obscurity
Yeah? Well they shouldn't be. They've been such a nothing club for such a long time I don't even dislike them anymore. Richmond on the other hand...You'd be surprised how arrogant their supporters can be seeing as they follow a club that is the very definition of mediocre.
It's Richmond like, would much rather the Saints get one if we're talking charity flags.
Mackie with the best sledge in a GF to Alex Fasolo...."Who the **** are you and why are you talking?"Don't believe the throwaway lines from Mackie. He's equal parts rat cunning and smiling assassin.
It may very well be a quiet trade period in that we just go to the draft. However I'm still not convinced there's not something that's been cooked up a fair way out and we'll see it land towards the end of trade week. Part of me thinks they'll try everything they can behind the scenes to land Bailey Smith and that the "no comments / we're not doing the deal" lines are merely the clubs way of protecting player and manger from the crazy media hype that would follow. Deal behind the scenes and make it public as late as you can.
Absolutely mate, honestly don't even think about them. They're in that group of Footscray, St Kilda & Freo that are just in their only little world that only they understand.Yeah? Well they shouldn't be. They've been such a nothing club for such a long time I don't even dislike them anymore. Richmond on the other hand...![]()
One of my favorites was the 2010 prelim.Mackie with the best sledge in a GF to Alex Fasolo...."Who the * are you and why are you talking?"
He is definitely rat cunning and smiling assassin... and funny as to boot.
I reckon he's got some thing s**t grinning to him for sure and that will play out over time in the role.
Go Catters

It is weird though. Check out their board, they've got a thread with one of their supposed 'rivals' called 'Sympathy for Essendon'.
I know they had something going back in the day...but when you're the worst team since Fitzroy, maybe know your place a bit?
I've actually always liked North as a club but it's actually funny, I was reading through their trade thread and I had to double-check I was on the North board and not Richmond's. The vitriol in their posts and the excessive use of terms such as 'salty' and 'campaigner' makes it almost identical. It makes sense in a way, before Richmond's recent success they were just as big of a laughing stock as North so it clearly does some damage to the brain. They're pathetic and I literally hate them
Nothing but trolling and bignoting themselves and the club, then whining about assistance in the same breath that they say how jealous we all are of them and their club. No awareness of how much of a joke they are to the comp and how little they've achieved...which is why they require those PP's in the first place? Can't have both, d*ckheads.
It's actually nuts how they behave, and as I've said before, it's Richmond'esque in their inability to conceive of anything where it doesn't benefit them/frame them in the best light.
Their board is straight up nuts and one of the only boards on BF I will not traverse (besides Richmond who are too soft to allow oppo input, of course).

No one will remember. That's the tragedy. The AFL leg up will get swept under the rug of historyTo the point where if they win a flag with this new group it will just be viewed as a charity premiership. I would find it a very hollow victory if it eventuates if I was a Roos fan.
It's bizarre, one poster was claiming the rest of the competition is just jealous. Like...of what?!?It's legitimately uncanny just how alike their two supporter bases are. At least Richmond have the success to back it up now. North nearly got kicked out of the comp recently, and just got handed three years of PP's - what the hell are they so cocky about?

I suppose rather than thinking of it as a pick number you need to ask whether Duursma is worth 2 top 10 picks plus a pick 30?.
Quite a lot of their supporters jumped on in the 90's so it's to be expected. You'd be surprised how arrogant their supporters can be seeing as they follow a club that is the very definition of mediocre.

It does pose an interesting question regarding the designation of extra draft picks for future teams in this position. Is this now the norm for all clubs that ever come to be in the same position? They're nuts. Like, I mean, legitimately nuts. To have that much lack of recognition of the current hole your irrelevant club is in by trolling and saying 'you're just all jealous', and then act like the AFL didn't give your club enough to help them out of that current hole - is straight up bonkers.
I'm just ignoring every one of them that trolls me, because I just find them so utterly pathetic - and completely out of their minds.
Maxwell had a giant chip on his shoulder as a Geelong boy being rejected by the Cats, when others in his school and footy group like Lingy / Scarlett etc were picked up. Think they were all Joeys boys. One of my favorites was the 2010 prelim.
Maxwell was getting chirpy and Scarlo goes 'You blokes will f**k it up next week anyway'...and he was right!!
Maxwell being the moron he is sent a picture of him with cup two week later, and Scarlo returned the favour in 2011.
Never start a fight that you can't finish, Nick.
North up to 2, 3, 15, 18, 21 & 25.
As close as you'll get to a quarter of the top 25 all belonging to them. Incredible scenes.
