I believe the whisper amongst recruiters is Haynes salary dump ( we pay $600k per year for 2 years) plus pick 7 for either pick 15 or 18.
We would then have 2,3,7,17 and one of 15 or 18. That gives us plenty to go after pick 1. And for those wondering - yes Harley Reid is THAT GOOD.

I have it on reasonably good authority that if we get pick 7 then West Coast will play ball for 2 and 7.

So I hope north are telling WC we are pick curtain with pick 3.

I'm sure we are telling that, when we have no intention.... and they are telling us they are picking Reid at 1 when they have no intention

I switched radio on for brekky this morning just in time to hear renowned trade expert Cornhole state weagles would be mad not to trade their #1 for godees #6 and #11, LMFAO
And they were debating whether it was worth Melbourne giving up 2 quality kids for Reid. Yet when north is mentioned, it’s pick 2 and 15 and 17 and then some.

We offer the following and its considered not good enough (the equivalent points of Pick 1 & pick 20):

GoDees potentially offer this and it's a great deal (the equivalent points of Pick 1 & pick 66)?

Have heard pretty much this as well from a good source. They want 2 picks under 10 feeling is draft drops off a fair bit after 10. They love Reid, really think he is generational.

Who knows what will happen though!

Tucker has his critics but his efficiency is not one of his weaknesses and stephens is beat by foot.... Scott well hit and miss as is goater at this stage....

That's the key word...prospects gets hit and miss down there we can't afford to miss

I hope Scott, Stephens and Darcy do well, my point is there is potential to unearth a star wingman and people treat these picks like they are valueless.

Whomever ends up with these picks will have access to a lot of good talent that has the potential to A grade.

I accidently listened to 2 minutes and heard him complaining about Schultze only nominating one club when he wants to return home. I had to pull over and text in asking him how come he didn't complain about JHFF doing the same thing. No idea if he read out the text, I switched off. He really is a dick.

In recruiters we trust they know the value, we dont

The points value is completely irrelevant.

Every single list manager worth their salt would take the 6&11 deal.

There’s no way giving up the first selection is worth having to wait until Pick 15 to start drafting, even if you get an extra pick.

If we are in that position.

We can quite easily attain 4 top 10 draft picks via Geelong.

They would jump at 17, 18 and a F2 as an example with maybe something coming back with 8.

I'm not sure Reid is worth diluting 2,3,7,8.

We can pretty much hoover up the absolute cream of the Coates league in a single draft.

You would get McKercher, Duursma/Watson, O'Sullivan and Caddy with that hand.

In fact, I'd almost dangle the F1 at Hawthorn at that point and trade out of 2024 completely and just go all in on the one draft and start to move up the ladder rapidly.

2,3,4,7,8.

We get McKercher, Duursma, Watson/Curtin, O'Sullivan and Caddy.

If Clarko can't turn that into a finals side with the other list of young players, just nuke the joint.

I think you can throw the points calculator in the bin unless a team needs to match for FS or academy.

If you had to take one of those, it would be Melbourne every day. There's a reason teams are throwing picks away to get into the top 10.

Secret herbs and spices? Why can't people in the industry get their minds around the fact the AFL didn't rate Franklin pick 19 and McKay pick 3. They rated them both worthy of band 1 compensation and then the process is that you get the first available pick after your clubs first pick. The reason for that is that clubs lower down the ladder can least afford to lose their best players. It is about attempting to equalise the comp. Not rating the players pick 3 or 19.
It's wilful f_ckwittery. People have to work very hard at being this stupid.

I'd rather Nizzy waking up to this.

Assuming the players go at around the same spot as Twomey's latest form guide... (they wont)
15: Darcy Wilson (quick mid, good skills)
17: Will McCabe (key defender)
18: Archer Reid (key forward)
I assume you're deliberately overlooking the fact that Twomey has 3x Gold Coast academy picks ahead of this along with a Bulldogs father-son, not to mention that one of these is a Hawthorn father-son, so we would be lucky to see the last of these three still on the board when we get to our picks.

Duff can produce some dross but occasionally, he does produce diamonds like that
Except for this bit straight from the AFL Media template:
But this is the AFL’s silly season – a season where a player like North Melbourne’s Ben McKay commands a pick three free agency compensation pick under the AFL’s secret herbs and spices formula when, at the end of 2013, Hawthorn received pick 19 for Lance Franklin when he accepted Sydney’s monster deal.

Based on Cal's recent guide and after bids in his list, we'd get the following in his rankings

20: Harry De Mattia
22: Arie Schoenmaker
23: Tew Jiath
