(who got me the KFC socks with his finish last season) but I think he's a short term rental and an eventual trade until Darcy comes back. If Darcy is out long term, I'll think hard about it but the new ruck rules don't favour him too.

(rather than Nic Martin) as a POD, Hawks turned to him in his last 6 games in the defence and he averaged 107. If he keeps the same role, hopefully gets DPP and gets swung back.

Very unsure on Berry too, might be swapped with the cash in the bank.

-backline pretty much locked. you could go down to 3 premo there and field a howes / coffield at d6 if you wanted to, but i prefer the rookies in other lines as on field options. Short > Sheezel would be on but for the byes - i think hes a great pick this year if he can stay on the park. gibcus is hopefully ready to be culled at his bye to kick upgrade season off and martin / roberts can swing back from the midfield. reid and howes edge out coffield for me, see them as having better job security and should make good money from the bench.

-lot of flux in the midfield. dropping flanders (more on that in fwd) and fading miller lets me pick tom green

who ive been super high on all preseason but avoided due to bye sharing. butters has been in a lot of my drafts, has a heap of games at adelaide oval early. steele can hopefully be a value keeper and push 110 at a significant discount, looked to be moving well in praccy games and clear #1 mid at his team. martin hopefully pushes 100~ and is a value d6 we can swing back there when needed. jordon can score well on a wing, well enough at least to warrant picking and should be a solid midpricer. rookies pretty standard here, can correct a hustwaite down to a 123k or lazarro if he duds. not sure on sharp.

- nearly everyone will have this ruck line, no explanation needed. prefer naismith over a loop, hopefully holds and makes cash and can flip at his first bye to a loop to give the opportunity for jackson to swing as ruck cover

-forward line sees flanders who has held a spot most of the preseason dropped for jackson and heeney. no darcy means jackson is ideal to start, heeney looks to be playing well in the midfield after training there during preseason and now a praccy match and round 0 playing there im on board. flanders im not sure on, beat up on a tigers midfield outfit that drastically underperformed and dont know how he will go in weeks where they dont dominate on the inside. still a good option but i prefer heeney for now. jackson becoming an option mitigates starting 2 rucks with early byes, very handy. i really hate fyfe and fisher but the value is too good if they pop off you will be left in the dust both in terms of $$$ and points. rookies standard. can see a world where fading reid is the correct option but i dont have the chutzpah to do it.

Honestly, great looking side. My only concerns would really be:

• Defense is a bit skinny with two of the rooks on field, but if we don't get more mid rookies named, plenty will go this way I'd imagine
• Don't love the Jackson pick tbh. You're picking him for the whole season at that price, and playing with Darcy, his SP is very limited. Not sure if it's worth it for 3-4 weeks.
• Green is an absolute gun, but has two byes before most mids have one. Have him pencilled in as an upgrade target personally, but it might be OK with your structure.
• Not 100% sold on Martin without having the DPP locked away, plus Essendon have a bunch of rebounding types. Should be able to correct if needed though.

Round zero has put a spanner in many teams this season. How many is too many double bye players to have? Going for overall you’d want less, for cash league wins maybe best to get few POD into your team.

Would love one less rookie in defence on field, will see by Thursdays game.
Hoping LDU PS crap score and Butters ankle scared off a few coaches.
Love to go English but already have Bont for VC/C, plus GnG are value.
Forwards meh!

All still depends on rookie selection this week.

You're batting too deep in the mids imo. Sanders is wasted on the bench. I'd get him on field by downgrading Anderson to Clark and using the cash to strengthen the defence

I don't think you understood Nelso 's point. You have 8 premium players that all have a bye in the first six rounds. Way too many.
