Why not treat everybody with respect? Would you have such strong opinions on the matter if TTs victim was a man?
His victim wasn't a man, it was a woman, therefore people are going to be talking about the lack of respect towards women. The fact you think his potential value to winning a flag means more than his disgraceful off field behaviour says a lot about you tbh.

I believe in second chances and opportunity of redemption, we aren't talking about a murderer here

I think it's pretty clear that we gave him more chances / opportunities than most would be given. Not to mention he couldn't even complete the respect for women course to the clubs satisfaction.
Tarryn shouldn’t have had to complete the respect for women course in the first place but it’s worse that he couldn’t even complete it to an acceptable level. It’s not rocket science.

He not only did four courses and engaged in therapy but was unable to show meaningful change.

An email sent by North Melbourne chief executive Jennifer Watt to her 17 club counterparts about sacked player Tarryn Thomas has laid bare the club’s frustration over their repeated attempts to rehabilitate him.
In the email sent on May 1, and seen by this masthead, Watt said the Kangaroos had been unable to change Thomas’ behaviour. Thomas, who was banned for 18 matches by the AFL for inappropriate behaviour towards women, had completed four different behavioural programs before being sacked by the club once the league’s ban was announced.
The email was addressed to West Coast CEO Don Pyke, who wrote to the AFL last week to urge the league to take a united stand against the prevalence of gender-based violence, amid growing community outrage about the killing of women in 2024; a woman has been killed violently on average every four days.
Watt wrote to Pyke and the other club chiefs to express her gratitude for Pyke’s leadership on the issue of violence against women.
“[North Melbourne president] Sonja [Hood] and I have been talking a lot about this, especially in light of the recent challenges we faced with Tarryn Thomas,” Watt wrote in the email.
“We were struck by just how hard it was to find programs to support behaviour change. And this was for someone with considerable resources and support around them.
“We eventually found a combination of programs for Tarryn. Even though Tarryn ended up completing four different programs which included an extensive combination of education, therapy and participation-style programs, we were not able to meaningfully change his behaviour.”

shocking but ultimately unsurprising. it's abhorrent but some people can't be fixed, sadly

Some people are just bad people and no amount of help is going to fix them.

If Geelong management are still thinking about it after having read this then the players led by their captain, Danger, need to tell them no.

Absolute kudos to the nmfc CEO and her Club.

Unfortunately her note to her counterparts was leaked. Presumably the leaker has found a method of expressing their own psychopathy.

Good on nmfc for their efforts in trying to obtain behavioral change from what ultimately proved a worthless poc. I have no doubt most footy fans support their actions and the stance they took

The Scott brothers have proved completely tone deaf. They need to do some catch up footy. Sporting clubs are no longer in the business of enabling aberrant dv behaviours.

Kudos to James Bartel for speaking out.

The leak doesn't make NMFC look bad; quite the opposite.

I went the other way, I speculate that a sympathetic club president leaked it because it makes North look better.
Yep, that too sounds good and you should run with that as absolute fact as well

People can choose to believe what they want. At the end of the day these afl media nimrods make heaps up anyway (Danger back to the crows lol), why can't we
