Could this finally, finally, fiiiinally be the time we actually have some midfield depth?! I have no problem with the idea that a young kid will need to spend 3-4 years learning his craft in the VFL before coming into the starting midfield. See Geelong.

Two things then happen.. pressure for spots, guys coming in knowing the standard and keen to hold their spot and if there really isn't a spot then you have a ready list of trade assets that you can use to continue to turn over your list.

FWIW.. Tsatas had another very good game in the VFL. I expect that he will get the nod ahead of Davey at some point.

I still rate parish as a very good midfielder.. very good. But how great that he is now part of a team that can share the load. Only a good thing if Parish is your 5th/6th midfielder.
Sorry boys, I'm still trying figure out the phone. Not pinging anyone in particular just learning the modern modern. Does Parish ever offer protection to our captain and genuine gun Merrett in the midfield their rotations?

Interesting correlation between his reduced possession rate and involvement and our best performances is brewing.

I guess it is all of the massive and selfless work he is doing off the ball.
Spin whichever way you want and I wouldn't expect any different from you but Kingy on SEN this morning gave him a huge rap on his defensive work in centre stoppages which he thought helped us win the game.

Just so we're clear, are you quoting David King as an authority on anything else?

I did not have David King making up Darcy Parish doing amazing defensive work on my 2024 bingo card.... like why would he lie about that? He was nodding along with Kornes 4 weeks ago when Kornes was saying he was the worst player in the league by champion data... I don't think he has Darcy Parish stocks he's invested in to lie about his formidable defensive work.

i thought the best part of the game on the weekend was the way we effectivley managed about 15 minutes of game time in the last quarter just by dropping the ruck hit out at the feet, then not letting it clear of the stoppage, rinse and repeat over on that wing - its was a beautiful thing, but on the odd few times we let it out and gained possession and started playing kick mark tempo i think it was usually parish who would stop it and go long to a contest

I agree with David King to a degree (shudder) that he does look more defensive and less ball hunty.

Has clearly bought in to the vision Brad has.
Tsatas bringing his own ball to the vfl probably helped sharpen Scott’s messaging

Quite a while back in this thread, I said that leaving him on the ground when he had that bad corkie in his calf was a bad move & it would lead to ongoing issues. I really hope they get this sorted, because he could be in a bit of trouble.
