Shai is contracted until 2028. If you want him you need to pay up. Picks 7 ,12 and 16 would do it otherwise we can get West Coast pick 3
We are happy to keep him otherwise

Thanks mate, I think that's very fair and look forward to Shai in purple. I have always said Bolton is second only to Judd so I will let Bell and Walls know we have negotiated in BF and decided the 2nd most expensive trade in history has already been agreed to.

Dont listen to the haters on here, this is the price you should be expecting, it's unders if anything
The point is that if you want a contracted player , you need to pay overs.
He would give you a definate shot at a flag.
Draft picks 7 and 12 are equvalent to pick 2 by the draft calculator.
We would probably consider that but nothing less I reckon.

I don't know if you've noticed our recent trade history, but we are well aware what happens with contracted players. We'll pay plenty enough that at least half our supporters will be livid.

But none of that leads to you getting our 3 firsts with nothing significant coming back and you're just setting yourself up for disappointment if you think that's what happens.

We get the deal done early and move on. This year’s highest 1st and next year’s 1st. Back ourselves in to improve.

If what the article says is true, there’s a personal family part at play and clubs aren’t generally arseholes when it comes to that (apart from a couple).

Collingwood came in with a fair offer for Schultz last year and the deal got done quickly. As long as we don’t low-ball, could be one of the first trades to happen.

Picks 7 and 12 minimum considering that it has been confirmed by his manager that there was no trade request.

West Coast will surely be about as much of an option as they were for Luke Jackson. They may well spin the media narrative that they want it to happen, but they'd have to be on Class A drugs to think moving for a 26 year old at the start of next year for a top 3 pick is a good idea for a rebuilding team.

That aside, I'd be happy if our pick is 12 at this rate. "Honourable loss in an away elimination final" is better than "somehow missed finals after being 3rd a month ago" which is looking like the likelier option.

This is what will happen.

Tigers supporters will feel we underpaid.
Dockers supporter will feel we overpaid.

What does it matter if an 'official'trade request was made or not? Does that impact his value?
It means he's happy to stay if a deal is not reached which is different to demanding a trade.
You'd be mad not to make a play for him. He would be the missing jigsaw puzzle piece in a premiership tilt.

Ok we'll keep him then.

Since we’re playing this game so early: “Ok good luck with a player who doesn’t want to be at your club”.

If it’s true and he has requested a trade and there’s family reasons behind it, trade will get done. And the more trade value Freo gives, the more of the salary Richmond will carry.

Do you want to trade him or not? ****ing lol.

One minute..he’s happy to stay and we’ll only accept overs.

Next minute..you’d be crazy not to make a play for him…c’mon make a
play for him ..I’ll be your friend.

He will come to Freo with the exchange of two 1st rounders. Small possibly of a late Richmond pick coming back to us.

He hasn't requested a trade according to his manager.

No way in the world.

What do you think the direction for the Tigers List Managment is?

Are they going to draft heavy or trade for players or a bit of both?

Bolton’s manager Anthony Van Der Wielen told Foxsports.com.au in a statement he “has not requested a trade” but confirmed there were “ongoing discussions with Richmond throughout the season where he has indicated that he would be open to the idea of returning home to Perth if a suitable deal can be struck that benefits all parties involved.

“With a young family and strong ties to Perth, the prospect of being closer to home is appealing to him. However, Shai is not making any demands of Richmond and fully understands that he has four years remaining on his current contract.”
