I think we used Motlop a bit but I can't remember the others. I like Docherty as a rotation on the wing.

Motlop and Williams attended 3 centre bounces each, which is not unusual, but they don't have the tank to play between the arcs

Moreso pushing back defensively, but both conditional in that aspect

Our club is in the strongest position it has been this century.
5 of the 7 board members have been appointed in the last 3 and half years.

This is how I picture people wanting clean out the board:

Strongest off field…

On field same as it’s been the past 25 years…

I think I picked a good night to give up watching The Front Bar

Carlton are without doubt more likely to finish in the bottom 4 than the top 4. Far more likely. Top 4 is genuinely in the realm of fantasy.

The $126 for the wooden spoon is actually a decent bet. Probably the best 100-1 shot I've ever seen, in fact. Lose to Hawthorn, lose to Bulldogs, lose to Collingwood... Media pressure gets out of control. One key injury away from disaster etc. It's not hard to see it unfolding.

And we don't have a first round pick 🙂

Bottom 4 is a bit hyperbolic, wooden spoon is drastic. Even if the rest of the list falls away, we have too many stars to finish that low. That 5 or 6 alone will generate enough wins.

It’s not, because we will win more than the 2-3 games this year that would place us bottom of the ladder. :p

After one game...

But not actually likely to finish in either range.

Didn't catch the first 2/3 of last year? Spoon chances 😂 hyperbolic nonsense
We are one Weitering injury away from being non-competitive. The forward line is beyond dysfunctional. The backline full of headless chooks. Zero pace or skill in midfield. A game style that appears unsuited to modern football and highly unlikely to change.

I don't think it's hyperbolic at all, but respect your view. We shall see 🙂

Aren’t you just a ray of sunshine :)

You are mad at the club and have lost your mind when it comes to any sort of sensible expectations for the year... And that's okay. Im angry at them too.

But we ain't winning the spoon lmao 😂

Ha you're probably right. Still feel like $126 is massive overs! 💰

I think they made me lose my mind years ago though (that Collingwood game, there's no coming back from that).

Fail to make finals. Cook wants to make the top 4.

It would be fascinating to see the football department, Coaching and recruiting team that Cook and Wright would put together. I have no doubts at all this has been discussed.

Our list should be better, we have underachieved list build wise. Not sure where they see coaching and whether it's a big issue but you would think a failed season will see a reaction.

Interesting story from Riley Beveridge on afl.com.au about how many inside 50's we had last week (only the pies and suns had as many and they both kicked 20 goals) and most importantly where we entered the 50 from.

Clearly we were guilty if bombing it in but it was a reasonable breakdown.

I'm very much of the opinion we bomb it in due to the lack of options shorter when we are in range around the half forward area.

It's why I made such a big song and dance over the few quarters Moir played. A half forward who won the ball in that area.
It's the old, nowhere to go so kick it long rule that has always existed in footy.

Would not be surprised to see Kemp and one of the talls roaming the half forward area more than waiting deep just to take the bombing out of the equation.

Having Harry and Charlie inside 50 means we often bomb it in as an easy out. A curse as much as a blessing that we have them.

Teams clearly put a lot of time into blocking space for them to lead into.

The only way to beat it is with sling shot footy or serious speed out of the middle.

The simplest of gameplans are effective, if everyone is on the same page
