I agree. He's not going to leave Carlton for less than say 1.3mil pa elsewhere and the Suns would be mad to offer that if it means one of those guys goes and their cap gets out of whack again.

Maybe we are/were looking to pull off a double coup by getting both De Konings to move north? I know we were trying to do that last year when we were chasing both Daniel and Maurice Rioli at the same time. In the end, I think Dimma was far more interested in Dan than he was Maurice and managed to convince him to leave his cousin at the Tigers while he moved to Queensland. I've heard that we've been talking to SDK since last year as well so the timing of all this makes sense considering our talls didn't perform well last year. However, that might have somewhat gone out the window now with players like Read and Walter seemingly stepping up this year. Side note - I'm sure Dimma is talking to many players in Victoria and trying his luck to see if they want to head north.

I still think we'll need a ruck + a key defender in the near future given both Witts & Collins are in their 30s and we're yet to open our finals window. So if the De Konings want to fill those roles for us then I'd be happy to bring them into the fold.
