Worrell or Hinge are much better matchups on Jez than Borlase or Butts. They are way too slow and unathletic for him, he would turn both of them inside out every forward entry.

Hinge? Hugely undersized for the task. Woz has the height but lacks body strength.

We're going up against Jez who barely 5 minutes ago was the best forward in the country (maybe still is) and the only KPD we're running with is Keane? The guy who had a bag kicked on him by Amarty? We're really over complicating simple selection decisions.

Cameron worries me, but I don't see a single person keeping him under control in the role of tagger. It's going to be more of a team thing, with someone keeping an eye out if he looks like getting off the hook.

Who else on our list is going to play on him though ?

He basically starts on wing or high forward ( sometimes even mid ) and plays as extra mid and drifts forward

Butts ain’t playing on him

Hinge has done well on him before , but Worrell is the guy

Max is a chop out option when Jez is playing high

If Jezza is on he will beat anyone on our list but we don’t lose anything by not playing Butts or Borlase on him

Cameron has also spent a decent amount of time further upfield this season, which would leave Borlase lost at sea.

Why are people talking about Butts? He's not in the team. What's the point?

HUGE respect for what the crows are producing this year. Bloody scintillating Play off HB to F50, gun forwards, 3 elite mids now in soligio, rankine ( best player in the AFL) and Dawson…

My early pick for the flag at this point.

6-10 goal win by the crows.

Finally dropped Murphy... so now I'm confident of a win. But this has always been a weakness in nicks, keeps picking players we know aren't afl quality. Did it with mchenry and costed experience in the young ones.

Yes but I think his comments are on another level.
not just non-statical but non-visible, which doesn’t make sense.

On the TV could be true if all about running patterns or defensive positioning, makes no sense to say that you can’t see that at the ground.
It makes it even more infuriating. We've basically got a "Make-A-Wish" kid to over 100 games of AFL footy because he brings good energy in the change rooms. We've had to sit by and watch a bloke with zero talent line up for the footy side we all love, and constantly run under the footy, fumble, make atrocious decisions and make our team signifcantly worse. It's still beyond me why some of the leaders in the playing group over the years haven't gone to the coaching group in private and ask what the hell they were doing picking him repeatedly. Imagine being a player in your prime and craving improvement and success for the club and then having to put up with the shit he serves up every time he plays.

Reporter: "A few raised eyebrows with the Murphy selection from some of the media and a few fans what is it you see in him that maybe isn't so obvious?" <-Elite question by the way.

Nicks: "Oh the same thing his teammates do. You know there's roles that you don't see, I've mentioned it a number of times. You don't see it in the TV screen, sometimes you may not see it at the ground but there's different things that that Lachy brings to our group that his teammates definitely appreciate, um, and it's an area we keep looking at, what is the balance of our side. You know guys who bring strengths in some areas and you know when it comes to a talent or strengths in other areas when it comes to team, we're always trying to balance that."

So not only can he not actually describe what Murphy brings, he indirectly admits it's not talent, and also says you can't see it on TV or at the ground.

Where the **** can you see it from then?
Thats a sacking

So can we all now be certain that Murphy will NEVER be picked again??

Huh Nicksy? Huh??

That is the classic Michaelangelo Rucci troll. Build a team up b4 the game to absolutely belt them in analysis if they lose..... And if they win.. "told you so".

It does seem like we're down a tall defender. Maybe Nicks will pull a C. Scott move and swap Rankine (calf) for Borlase right before the game.
I'm more inclined to think they will put Rankine as sub and hope to only use him for Q4. They have pulled that shit before and backfired, but it might work...

They seem to be slow learners so it wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe...

I don't think we need to stop JC. That would be hard to do. We should however, keep him from taking control. Worrell won't win every contest and keep him goalless, but he'll win enough to contain Cameron. Geelong have several smalls who can hit the score board and we should trust Worrell to beat his man, and each of our defenders to do the same. Too much attention on JC is something he, and Chris Scott are aware of and have planned for. Cameron is after all, a central discussion point for every oppo team, every week.

We are the team on the park who will require the oppo to plan for. If we play well, our speed will stretch them. Over the first 4 rounds, we average just under 5 goals per game more than them. Attack them. That's how we beat them. Geelong don't have any area of the ground where they are theoretically dominant over us. Not forward, not back and not midfield. Even ROB should at least be a chance to beat his man this week. WE HAVE THE GAME. We just need to bring it.
