never said he should be, but he is, so this is the situation we are in. Nicks either proves a master stroke in keeping Smith and Smith comes in and performs like the Smithers of old or he plays like the buckled wheel of last year and he is out. That simple. Either way Smith needs to justify his place on the list.

Or, you know, he could not play someone who played like a "buckled wheel" last year?

And the only reason Jordan Butts got a gig was because Borlase didn't come up, bet it was toss up between Jordan and Chris Burgess though.
"In the end, we were happy for the kid who is our future to be the chop out 2nd ruck after having a compound dislocation the previous week"

**** this campaigner

I’ve loaded up on Carlton to win and 2+ goals each of Curnow and Mckay
Hope we get flogged and then a showdown loss

Actually think we need to miss the 8, **** him off
Got Carlton at $2.86 after our game last week. Couldn't believe my luck then, even more so now.

no, we havent done that already. All our youth play in the twos, unless injuries to seniors in the one's force them to be picked. It's been like that for 5 years now.

People want Berry, Schoenberg, Murphy, Butts, Sholl gone. All developed under this rebuild
Last year we removed McHenry, Hamill, Gollant, Parnell

The common theme here is as a supporter group we want everyone out who isnt a genuine star but at some point we need to keep and maintain depth and select said depth. Cant just jump to each shiny new toy as it keeps the best 23 inexperienced.

It's painful but the reality is Nicks developed a bunch of shit players and that's to some degree on him

Bloody hard for Draper to contribute when he's been subbed in 5 of his 7 games and otherwise played significant time as a forward
Yep, though I'm not against subbing a first year player, but do it properly.

Sub Crouch or Tex at half time and give the kid a half in the guts as the game opens up and slows down.

If we get an injury, Dawson can play just about anywhere on the ground and can cover.

but whats the point. it was a 8 month old decision. Chasing finals he was always going to play at least one game as a senior player.

What's the point in what? Expressing thoughts about selection?

What's the point of a football team internet forum then?

Just on Sam Berry are we to accept as pleb fans that he just turns into a total fumbly, multiple ground ball grabbing, feet for hands mess that can’t hit the side of a barn door by hand or foot just on game day and at all other times during the week at training he displays ultra-clean ball handling and exquisitely accurate ball skills around the coaches?

Who is this rookie B Smith I've been hearing so much about?

People want Butts gone?

Look at it positively…one game closer to Matthew getting sacked…although no doubt we will replace him with another untried, unsupported coach…
Can't be having a coach with a clue - might tell the club the truth

This approach has been going on longer than Nicks. The club has done this for years. It's an ingrained, "don't question us", do-your-time attitude from a by-gone era.

The seniors and leaders at the club act like perennial flag-winning "we know best" champions. They haven't won anything for nearly 30 years.
Exactly my point before.
People used to point this talk at one coach and another, now Nicks.
The constant is this clubs ideals/philosophy etc.

It's a beautiful indoctrination and hand down that goes on so it can continue.

hmm what a coincidence, some numbnuts made that same statement on twitter...

I'd argue "developed" is a strong term to use, but in any case, your strawman falls apart because we are talking about Brodie Smith here.

Yes he did because Nicks threw all his eggs into 4 straight years of draftees baskets and statistically only 30% of all draftees make it. Yet Nicks selected the same group like we had a 100% strike rate. Thats on Nicks.

Collingwood and Sydney turned over more players than us in the same amount of time. So why was ours a rebuild and theres wasnt.
