Autopsy Round 10, 2025: Suns get it done against plucky Hawks

I was listening/watching whilst at work so missed a fair bit but sounded that apart from 10 mins in the first we were the better team. I expected a worse loss than this, glad we were competitive. Sucks we couldn’t pinch it.

Given the conditions, the fact that the Suns got two weeks to get used to them, the bounce of the ball favouring them all might and the bullshit umpiring - I’m content enough with the fight. Some weren’t their best tonight, some absolutely were. I hate losing but most of the boys can hold their heads high.

Ned Reeves, please never play for Hawthorn ever again.

Nash can't come back quickly enough. The lack of defensive structure around stoppages was costly.

Not sure why they were celebrating so much they had all their stars out there and we had a third of the team back in Melbourne. Both teams at full strength in Melbourne we win this game by 4 goals at least.

Great effort considering our outs, 5 day break travelling.

Tag Anderson all game is the lesson out of this. And lock Noble down.

Letting a spud like Long kick 4 goals is not good for our defence.

It really sucks that we couldn't get over the line, but considering the margin we were down early on, the amount of our players that copped a physical battering, I could not be prouder of this group.

Clearance needs work- Anderson Miller and Rowell just controlled it
Let them get too far in front early (umpire assisted) and had to work to hard to get back into it…
Pleased with the grit but the loss hurts

Put Day and Meek back in the middle in September and it will look different.

Great effort by the team. No complaints.
IMO game was lost by robbing peter to pay paul. Hardwick AND Sicily forward should not happen again. Hardwick was doing fine as the extra forward...we may as well have just subbed Sicily out at 3 qtr time.Just my opinion.

Disappointing result, but put the game in Melbourne and we win this. Have to work on the defensive side of the stoppage. Two weeks in a row we've not been able to halt the surge. Nash returning next week should help.

A lot to be positive about but we got absolutely pumped in the centre Meek would have made a difference but Rowell and Anderson killed us there.

If we want to win it all this year, obviously Day has to play but we need another X factor in there so Weddle and Watson need to get some
Time in there and see how it goes.

Regardless we desperately need another A grade mid to join Day next year - have to go so hard for Butters or even Reid

Good to see the boys butter up and dig right in after getting totally owned by a physical Suns for a qtr and a half.

Good effort in the end , we are just a way off against the most physical sides which the Suns are some of the hardest bodies in the league.

Lots of tackling and body practice to come for us.

Weddle and Newk and Watson and Ginni and Scrim kept us in it all night.

So many players out off a 5 day break in those conditions.
Get some players back and play them on the G. I’m not scared.
