There's a reason we drafted Curtin, this kid is a unicorn.
He has been playing a meaningful defined role on the wing and building into it.

I stand on the Western side at AO and you can see his work up close.

Very smart footballer. Has great positioning and reads the game so well.

Being 197cm and having the ground work skills he has is borderline unfair...

the most Milera has taken the game on for years, wasn't against much pressure but that is what we want from him.

Take the tackle on, opens up the ground and we rebound quickly and effectively - keep that up and no worries he can stay in.

And if Nicks must have an old fart playing half back, I'd take Smith over Laird - at least Smith pulls off a good kick every couple of tries - not higher than they go long.

He's a great option for backline to hit up as the first guy coming towards the play.
In the past teams have regularly defended that kick and causes turnovers.
Not Curtin - he's 197cm and strong in the air.

That was a powerful performance, and I look forward to watching the replay. Watching on a phone at a pub isn't the best for forming opinions.

I'm not taking anything from this win at all. This might be the worst footy I've seen Sydney play since they were crap in the 90s.
You are taking a bit away from it though

I can’t rember us setting up and dominating a game so much defensively and offensively and all our players maxing put their roles like that since 2017 when we smacked teams in rain but at home

Some great signs of who we are becoming

Good:
Forward pressure - Loved the pressure from the smalls this week which has been missing at times this year
ANB - Best game for us so far
Keane - Such a pivotal part of our defence, career high intercepts (15) and one percenters (14)
Peatling - Really relishing not having Crouch in the team
Cumming - Like ANB probably his best game for the club
Rachele - How good was that pass to Keays?
Max and Worrell - 57 and 42 games in respectively but play like 200 gamers
Thilthorpe - Clunk! that play coming out of defence in the third should be impossible for a player his size
Milera - Some trademark kicks and fancy footwork

Bad:
Couldn't get Draper more game time in such a big win?

Big win largely off the back of our trio of recruits and our non star players. That sort all around team performance is whatt I to see more of. Dawson, Soligo and Rankine quieter so ANB, Berry, Peatling and Cumming step up. Sydney looked like a shell of the team that made the GF last year, undisciplined and uninterested at times.

The signs were there in 2023 when we beat West Coast by 122 points.

I think we got to be realistic. The fact is we haven't. Still falling short against the good sides.

Your record against the fellow top eight is equal to Hawthorn’s 🤷‍♂️ Both only beaten GWS, but of course you won’t hear that from the VFL media.

You at least got close to Collingwood and should have beaten GC.

Big opportunity next week against the Lions at home to pass a test (they the Hawks) failed.
