27 goals from those 4 finals matches. An average of 6.7 goals per game. Plus he won the Norm Smith medal as well. Had the Player of the Finals award been around then - he would of win it.
Different game back then, half of his opponents were part time alcoholics...

In all seriousness, Dusty had an amazing year - as did Danger - but, I feel (and I'm not alone here) that Houli was BOG on GF day.
Neale wouldn't even start in the Lions dynasty midfield.
Voss, Black and Akermanis are all more talented.
He's probably around the same level as Luke Power.
He’s better then Luke power but agree he’s a step below Lappin, black and Voss (I find it hard to consider Akermanis a true midfielder)
No but he should of had the Norm last year.
I reckon Neale was. Why? Ashcroft was more influential.
Obviously. Are Woewoedin, Mitchell, Wines better than Matthews, Ablett and Carey because they won Brownlows?
Nope.
Doesn't play for Victorian team.
Isn't Victorian.
Therefore Ineligible.
4 All Australians (could have been 5), 2 Brownlows (one was a bit of a surprise), a League MVP, 6 BnFs and a Gary Ayres medal - its a fair resume. I don't think he'll add to any of those. One poor grand final, one great grand final.
Not quite modern GOAT contender-worthy. Impact of disposals and scoring metrics a bit less than the ultra damaging players who either had explosive attributes + big kicks, or were elite for skills. Probably more dangerous by hand than foot.
Agreed. Where do you rank him among 21st century players? Top 3? 5? 10? 20? 50?Its a pretty good resume' he has had a fine career.
Yes.Are Woewoedin, Mitchell, Wines better than Matthews, Ablett and Carey because they won Brownlows?
What about now? Dual Brownlow medalist and a dual premiership captain. Currently sits 5th all-time in Brownlow votes.I mean yes he is a very very good player but I wouldn't have him ahead of Ablett Jnr, Martin, Judd, Dangerfield, Franklin.
