Buckley and Montagna are really good. They find a nice balance between explaining things the average punter might not get, without being know it alls.

Leigh is also alright when he does play by play as well.
I love bucks as a commentator, if you had never followed footy you wouldn’t know he bleeds black and white.

Pick 1 in the Mid season draft sure was a important one this year. McCarthy been a huge pick up for us and is actually transforming how we play a bit and thats after 2 games. He is the player we have missed since Shannon Hurn retired basically. That quarterback

To get such a player outside the main draft is huge when you are rebuilding. Thankfully we had pick 1 in the MSD because its accelerated our rebuild a fair bit by landing us a very important piece of the puzzle
You're welcome. Wish we could have gotten him. Our VFL development is too good, keep getting picked clean

We usually play teams (read: minnows) at KP that we would beat anywhere anyway. The Bears, Giants, etc... have managed to beat us at KP this season and the Dogs not that long ago as well. Our overall home and away record is a reflection of how good the team is, not that Geelong has some sort of special home ground advantage that gets Geelong over the line to play in September every year.

Would love to play Collingwood at KP but someone at AFL HQ has been deadset against it for a quarter of a century and counting.
Geelong don’t want to play Collingwood at KP, it doesn’t make sense financially, strategically or logistically.

Typical recent Collingwood form, they rarely thrash anybody and they didn't this time again. They get the job done and that's all they need to do. You have to admire them, but if i said that i might spew all over the place!
No doubt Pies are out of form, been smashed in contested footy and clearances since the bye.

Wc smashed us in the phone box last night, saints did last week.

Better to be out of form now than August September.

Team d is holding up, but won't against top teams IF we keep losing ball and clearance.

Need to fix that up.

Yet they have clearly said they would.
And leave 50k people without seats they otherwise would have? It just doesn’t add up. I’m sure most fans would rather play at the MCG and actually get to go to the game rather than have to watch at home. Not to mention all the money on ticket sales that would be lost.

Geelong will always play at the MCG against Melbourne (or other) teams for finals, they play Collingwood in finals all the time so why not take the chance to get more used to it?

I'm not across these sort of things so I stand to be corrected but I'm fairly certain Geelong stand to make more money from a sell out at Kardinia Park than playing even at a full capacity MCG. So assuming I'm right, hell yes Geelong would love to play a rival that's often decent opposition in the regular season at Kardinia Park where Geelong players are accustomed to playing as it is their home ground with the crowd mostly being Geelong supporters than at the MCG where Geelong supporters are almost always outnumbered by Collingwood fans and play far less games than at Kardinia Park.

The AFL won't allow a final between you and us at KP. They want dollars in their pocket.

The AFL get the money from the TV rights, clubs from gate fees. Geelong want those games at the MCG because it increases capacity by 60k. Thats more than double the money they get from an MCG final vs KP.
