He has stacks of priors but the AFL kept letting him off. He punched Sam Collins 100m off the ball then defended himself by saying he was pushing off his opponent

The AFL bought it :$

Hey still not as bad as the Charlie Cameron good bloke excuse, that was a pearler lol

Jono Brown was mauled by 3 defenders every week for most of his career, didn't see him ever try to king hit anyone. He just kept fronting up. Lynch is a petulant mentally underdeveloped manbaby. Been that way his entire carcareer

I agree with the sentiment, but Jonothan Brown was just big a thug as Lynch was.

4 striking charges in 12 months resulting 10 weeks worth of suspensions.

The hands in the back softening hasn't helped . This is what can happen when a staunch clubman is allowed to tinker with rules.

The hands in the back softening that allows forwards like Lynch himself to put…. His hands in the back.

He’s going for the ball himself, and to quote a famous British film character, it’s not as though he’s in-con-f**king-spicuous, is it?

What’s stopping one of the biggest key forwards of the last decade from using his own hands?

Oh that’s right he only uses them to thump blokes. Legally, of course.

Not sure if you remember, but several years ago, he was punching his man in the guts and when they doubled over he ran off them and took an uncontested mark and kicked a goal.

David King was saying it's the cheapest goal in the comp.
He was getting a $1500 fine.

No I don't at all. It's the hypocrisy I can't stand.

Ohhhhh right.

The hypocrisy whereby other players get suspended but you want your player not to?

Is that it?

You want your player to get the same suspension as players like Hawkins were getting for grabbing opponents by the front of their jumper and giving them a quick jab in the sternum with it 😂😂

Yeah that might have been the Sam Collins incident - absolutely should have been given a week for it. Even two because it was such a dog act.

The fine clearly didn't deter him.

All you people saying 4 to 8 weeks are dreaming, he hardly made contact.
He should get one week for attempting to strike, the Adelaide playa was totally fine.
Maybe save the 4 to 8 week suspensions for players that concuss other players.

He should be getting 10 weeks IMO. No less than 8.

This is a roundhouse punch, what kind of message you want to send to lower level or auskickers when you allow players to this kind of thing, and not be penalised worse than a "dangerous" tackle? So tackling and boxing 🥊 on a football field all good?

The "he didnt kill him so its not that bad' defense is not the positive people think it is either....

There is no way in hell he will get 8 to 10 weeks. You're being hysterical.

It's interesting that Aristotle Pickett finds humour in acts like this.

I can recall the thread about the Ginbey incident on Sam Lalor in the preseason minnow buster - he was calling for the book to be thrown at him, suspended for weeks upon weeks. That thread was full of hand wringing and concern trolling, not too disimilar to this thread itself, about how dangerous and evil Ginbey was (which tbf, he probably deserved weeks), and yet, the same Richmond fans think that it's funny that Tom Lynch had a little tanty and belted a bloke in the back of the head.

Concerningly inconsistent, though sadly unsurprising. #DoBetter.

Outcome based remember. Since he didn't get concussed, the AFL won't give more than about 6 or 7. It is crazy that this is the world the game lives in.

It is like that week where the Adelaide player bumped a player pretty legally but the oppo got knocked out so he got a lot of weeks and in the same round, Pickett left the ground and got Smith high but only got 2 weeks despite it being a much more vicous act.

Off the ball, behind play and opponent not even facing Lynch as he swings.

Hawkins got the same attention and lack of frees so I get the frustration - but you just cant go there anymore.

3-4 weeks for the dog act and he gets an added week for not reading the room especially after the Balta cowards punch and guilty result.

GO Catters

I'd be amazed if it's more than 4, the AFL love to talk the talk but really love to hand suspensions out like a wet paper leaf. I mean good ole AFL lets give blokes a month for a footy tackle, and somehow Nash gets 4 for whacking someone into the next suburb

Don't be so sanctimonious. The difference is that the Adelaide player is totally fine and that Lalor suffered concussion and a broken jaw.
Do the math on that one rubadub.
