I think he'll get 2 weeks . One week for attempting to strike and one week for the slap on the scone.

Double that and start from there. That's if he's lucky, which knowing the AFL and the nitwits running it will be exactly what occurs.

There is no way in hell he will get 8 to 10 weeks. You're being hysterical.

No, I'm been reasonable. This kind of action can kill someone.

In the real world you'd get a multi year protection order against you if you attempted the same thing.

Don't be so sanctimonious. The difference is that the Adelaide player is totally fine and that Lalor suffered concussion and a broken jaw.
Do the math on that one rubadub.

So outcome based, and all about luck. Some blokes are just more prone to concussions. That is a complete slippery slide to adhere to an outcome based thing

Yeah, but Tom Lynch still punched someone in the back of the head off the ball, probably being given tips by Noah Balta in any case. Your injury trolling is #noted and #concerning to see.

The main difference between the two is that Ginbey's was rightfully seen as a football accident, Lynch sized up his opponent and punched him square in the back of the head, and let's not forget the attempted stomping in the first quarter.

Can't see an 8 week ban, but honestly a suspension in the 5-6 range would be acceptable. That said they stupidly got the Nash one incorrect and Richmond would be right to ask for only the 4 week ban. That suspension was the worst one of the year, said it at the time, they better hope there wasn't a similar thug action this year

I think once other camera angles come out, it won't look as bad.

Doesn't matter there's a high degree to cause injury, don't pull the 'he was holding him card' every FB hold a foward in every single contest, Tom just unfortunately had a brain snap doesn't make him a thug but he'll cop his whack. Gut feeling says it should be 5 weeks but I'm expecting it to be 4 weeks after Nash should have been 6-7 weeks

Absolutely outcome based plus attempting to strike.

It should be action first, if the action itself is legal move on. It's why we have got into issues this year with the suspending footy tackles.

Outcome based remember. Since he didn't get concussed, the AFL won't give more than about 6 or 7. It is crazy that this is the world the game lives in.

It is like that week where the Adelaide player bumped a player pretty legally but the oppo got knocked out so he got a lot of weeks and in the same round, Pickett left the ground and got Smith high but only got 2 weeks despite it being a much more vicous act.

We had a player recently get three weeks but then they realised it was an accident so it was changed to zero.

Four or five weeks is saying that it's fine, it's just a normal football action.

This is not a football action, it's an assault pure and simple. 8 weeks minimum. Hall's roundhouse on Staker was 20 years, are we saying that we're no better than back then?

I'd be amazed if it's more than 4, the AFL love to talk the talk but really love to hand suspensions out like a wet paper leaf. I mean good ole AFL lets give blokes a month for a footy tackle, and somehow Nash gets 4 for whacking someone into the next suburb

Nash was different. It was attempted block during the play.

Lynch was a deliberate roundhouse, off the ball. If Nash had tried what Lynch did and connected he would've killed someone.

Problem is we have the Connor Nash farce like what 8 weeks ago or something. He somehow only received 4 weeks for his blatant thug action. Under no planet will they give him double that to Nash. I have my doubts he gets more than what Nash did (4 weeks). Look he deserves 5-7, but I am fully expecting 4 weeks.

And I'm a supermodel. The AFL love to accept these rubbish excuses, can they stop falling for the rubbish excuses that wouldn't fly at 2am at the pub! Nash was beyond lucky, should have got 6 weeks.

If we're now regularly giving out 3 to 4 weeks for tackles and bumps in the field of play then you'd expect a hit like this is now worthy of more than it was 10 years ago.

You'd think the complete spectrum here would be 4 to 8 weeks with 5 or 6 the most likely outcome.

Lynch really should be traded at years end. He'd still be some value to a team in contention but isn't going to offer Richmond anything going forward. The current arrangement isn't working for either party.

That's on you if you don't see the difference. I didn't think it required a lot of logic.

Dangerfield lost a Brownlow because of a players susceptibility to concussion. Truly is luck of the draw.

To be fair that one he has got away with a few too, that said Cripps was worse and he somehow kept his.
