What's wrong with 2 and 5?
No.1 is ongoing
Some merit in 3 and 4.

Overpaying and would rather develop the young players coming through who look to have major upside. Also don't want to see the TDK aquisition push our current tall/s into other clubs hands.

Ongoing late in the season is not how things should be done.

Okay Ned Flanders. Gothic drama is always more entertaining than your cheery saccharine soap opera. I might sleep in a coffin but I imagine you jumping out of bed like a Wham era George Michael, full of pastel coloured enthusiasm and good cheer and want to spew. I still love you though you cheeky little monkey.
Wasn’t even about you though, was it now. Some introspection needed as to why you feel the need to inject yourself into these discussions maybe? 😘

Anyone can look around and see all the promising young talent on other lists. It's not a science. We just threw offers at them that they rejected because we haven't proven to be on any kind of upward trajectory yet.

Anderson wanted in. We told him to piss off because we wanted Ben King and needed to keep our money for that.

We are developing, drafting and managing players better than ever but we have thrown the balance slightly out by cutting. Older players are the glue that keeps the stability in the side and allows kids to play without as much pressure on them. If all of our players had stayed fit we probably could have covered it.

We need leadership more than development. We don't have a lot of alpha personality types still. Most of the kids are too young to really stand up and take the reins yet and the old guys are all a bit bete.

Exciting is winning games regularly. 4 years of a soft rebuild around the core that they inherited should be competitive enough to sit mid table. If he can't get players fit and on the field he doesn't get to stay bottom 4 for ever and needs to get pushed. Another 10 years of rebuild is commercially untenable.
1st para: agreed
Anderson: I know and it still makes me angry
3rd para: disagree. Regarding older pretty good but not elite players like Ross and Membrey and plenty of others, all the way back to Armo our only fault was getting rid of them a year or two too late. If we'd done it and got max value, we could have actually drafted a few guns and we'd be where clubs like Adelaide or Hawthorn are now. We held onto all of them until they were past their used by date, got f all for them and still had to replace them, all the meantime still not profiting enough from their supposed leadership and abilities to get anywhere useful. We finally got it right with Battle at least. Look at any half decent clubs in the league and chances are they've done this and absorbed the loss for long term strength, and I'm sick of some supporters crying about trading our leadership - if they were anything close to leaders, we wouldn't have been the nowhere men we were for so long.

4th para: agree wholeheartedly that we need leadership and anyone who doesn't have me on ignore should know how I feel about this, I could go on but suffice to say it's hands down our biggest weakness and needs to be addressed before we can get to the next stage, BUT it's time to admit that we just dont have it in our senior group or culture. The best we can do is develop our youngsters to create their own culture like GT did with Ball, Lenny & Co. The seniors we have aren't really the same calibre as Rob Harvey or Aaron Hammil but they'll have to do.

Last para: agreed and I doubt we will finish the year in 15th, I think we'll start floating back up to NML soon with some easier games and a bit of form. Ross isnt a fool, he knows its been a rough year and he's accountable ultimately, but I also have faith that he's comfortable with that and he'd rather focus on building the team to be powerful for a sustainable period - even if that means getting hooked - than take knee jerk decisions to save his job.

It's always about me sweetie.

Hope so. Hope we look around at others though too. Having a guy that takes the reins from a bottom 4 coach that has learned the same system might not be enough to change things up. Getting a coach out of a really strong winning system is probably a safer bet. It might end up that Boris is the best candidate but you'd want a process to make sure.
Any candidates in mind? Doubt X Clarke would come back, otherwise I'd look into him

Probably need to look around and interview a few. Horse and Simpson have flags but probably prefer to go up to date.

6 more rounds to go
& then a month of finals

And some of u feckers will be posting negative doomsday tripe every day of that time frame and well into draft and trade season and it’ll glorious

Calm Down Al Pacino GIF
Wait until we win some meaningless late games and then all summer it’s the opposite - “we’re not far away from the top 4”, etc.

So you were certain Steele and Sinclair would reach AA status after their 2nd years?
There's a big difference between players who are AA locks over a period of 4 or more years like Bont, Cripps or at least big questions over their omittance, and players who snag an AA spot for a year or two, like Steele, Wilkie and Sinclair, no disrespect intended.
