Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

I love Charlie and know my son would be devastated if he left, but looking at the facts, I can see why the idea of a trade might be explored. Outside of ‘22-‘24, he has averaged about 1.8 goals per game (or 40 goals per year in a full season). He has kicked 3 goals this in the 3 finals he has played. At his best, he is a top 10 player in the competition. We’ve seen that for 2-3 years of his 10 year career to date.

You would think he has 4 or so years left at his physical peak, assuming his knee injury doesn’t hamper him any further. There are a lot of variables to consider, but my point is that if we are going to trade him, it has to be now while his value is still high. If we think we are near a flag in the next few years that might change the thinking. If we need a rebuild on the fly without burning the place to the ground, he is the most likely to get us overs to kickstart the process.

This is in no way taking a shot at Charlie as a player, leader or person, but if he truly wants out there is merit in exploring the option for both sides.

I love TDK and was all aboard start of year when he was showing his development and becoming the star he was born to be.

But honestly, his indecision and subsequent shit form and noticeable drop in attitude has only made things worse for the club on-field. I'm at the point where if we have to pay him any more than market value for a not-even-top-five ruckman... then I'd prefer he walk and we take the pick.

Of course, I'd love him to stay and get to his best for unders - like many stars do - but can't see it happening and another massive deal could stuff the club even more.

Very keen to see what GW thinks about it.

I know there's been a lot of conjecture re TDK lately but as of the last few weeks I have been told the following:

• He hasn't yet made up his mind.
• We're trying to bridge the gap between our offer and St. Kilda's offer by laying out a 'post football plan'. This includes being mentored into the financial world by Chris Judd, who currently manages TDK's financial affairs.
• St Kilda have not formally made an offer. Any offer must first be submitted to the AFL for review and this has not yet happened.
• He loves the club and his teammates. His best mates are at the club. There is still a huge buy in led by Captain Courageous Crippa.

The Club has become hostage to under peformance from over paid faux superstars who think that the Club is a vehicle for their personal 'story' and 'journey' and their best frinds are their managers who encourage them to find the next chapter in their personal story. - FFS Charlie asking for a trade to GC - because that is a good plan for his personal life style - after being paid millions and being carried through 3 years of injury recovery half of which was self made..

The coaches have been hostage to an unbalanced list and perennially unavailable senior developed faux leaders at the Club.

The list management has been dealing with a salary cap squeeze from the faux underperforming top end talent forcing an over investment in subgrade fill ins

The developing coach has had to develop playes with promise in VFL like Moir/Lemmey/Wilson/Carroll/Chalmers\Camporeles etc etc etc san availability of AFl quality depth developed players

The place has been held together with thick layers of duct tape

As a Carlton supporter I want to invest time which is an irreplaceable asset into watching 23 players who want to win...

Instead the season starts with Harry McKay trumpeting the idea that " it doesn't matter if the CLUB DOESNT WIN A FLAG THIS YEAR...

IMO what doesn't matter is Harry or Charlie or Walshy or any other "....shy"

As a collective they are proven losers - led by a proven loser who burns team mates every second time he touches the ball trying to kid himself he is Marcus Bontempelli

As for the two people who have a clue it would be the President and Wright DOH - not rocket science mate.

This Club needs to balance the list out and have enough competitive depth to force performance - and the only way to do that is rid itself of the self imposed superstar baggage that stops the ability to do the basics.

Any replacement coach and head of football will understand this.

The facts are that Voss and his crew have failed to (even) make finals - he can go and take hsi assistants with him.
The facts are that the superstars arent superstars - and they are over paid.

Time to clean shop - might take 2 years - forcus on the youth and get that right.

I don't like the way you've phrased it but agree entirely with the sentiment, for me players are assets not pets and the club is the most important thing. I'd much rather trade a player when they have value, than hold on too long and not recover draft capital, especially when we've determined a change is required.

Totally agree.

Start with a President who is used to sacking underperformers in his real life.
Add a CEO who isn't married to any history of the Club owes no one in the Club any favours and isnt a bloke pulled out of retirement to keep things 'stable and comfy' for the proven bunch of second raters infesting the Club's football operations.

Clean house

get a coach who is equally ruthless and committed to creating a balanced list of mongrels who like to win games of football.


Rid yourself of soft front running lifestyle players and flaky individuals and the overpaid underperformers.

That is my hope.
