Everything points to him requesting a trade.
Feel like Port are trying to get the appropriate compensation lined.

It is very difficult and taking time involving other clubs, and current players.

Would say they have been given a deadline. If it looks like they can't do it, NAZ probably stays for 2. If this drags on to after the season, Port has secured high dps by trading Butters and convinced a Whitlock or Berry ( or both).
Name one thing that points to it other than speculation everyone has made up in there heads?

Been saying it for years, most of their shit is made up.

The Callaghan story was such a ****ing beat up, it seems clear we either asked or got told what Finn would cost if he would consider a move home and all of a sudden we were offering him 10 years at $1.7m.

Rowell would have been the same is my tip. If whoever ran with the Rowell story spent 4 minutes on an excel spreadsheet they would have seen it wouldnt work. Those three as stated, plus our next best 8 players at an average of $750k would mean the remaining 34 players on the list would get paid about $140k each (which includes Windy, Wilson, Travag, Tauru etc etc etc)
This ploy is used everywhere by player agents globally to bid up contract prices. So this is not new, just that St Kilda is the easier target since we did pursue some high profile free agents, in terms of the amount of money quoted, I think a lot of it is fantasy land stuff.. Imagine paying 850k a year for Aleer who’s not even getting regular game time at GWS, it’s 500k if he is lucky. Reporters are just like cheer leaders, happy to report bigger salaries so they get the next news exclusive.

I reckon we haved moved past Aleer.

Abandon his contract offer, give the money to our existing players, who are starting to grow and show what we drafted them for.

I’m still strangely optimistic that he will sign with us. Might be clutching at straws but I feel like the radio silence works in our favour here. If Port were more in the loop I feel like there would be more media links. Nobody seems to know anything which leads me to believe it’s currently just St Kilda and Ben Williams. The current state of play there is unknown. Hopefully we hear of a breakthrough soon because it’s just utterly painful being in limbo like this

Why are you still struggling with this...

Everyone has accepted nas wants to go home. Thats the main thing for him.

The point people were making is that if we are going to keep him it absolutely has to turn and be about the money.

You need to offer him enough to where the appetite to return home isn't as strong anymore.

If you way to winning him over and forget about home sickness is to offer him less than port and Adelaide over two years then he's as good as gone.

Its the most ridiculous list management strategy ive ever heard. Its so had it beats trading pick 1 for croad.
But where did Nas, himself, actually say he’s homesick?

Because I’ve never heard/ seen it anywhere.

Last contract, it was mentioned. But then he still signed.

This just seems to have grown legs and I do remember some journo a while back ( I can’t remember who) writing that the homesickness thing was overstated.

Would not be surprised if Ports opening bid is to offer both Whitlock and Berry and their 2025 2nd. Way unders, but will be potrayed by Cornes and others as a fair offer. lol

St Kilda categorically ruled out of the JSOS race

crushed noo GIF

I cannot see them losing Butters? I mean what’s the point? 1 star player out, one star player in. Where’s the net gain?
They’re going to be doing everything they can to retain him AND get Nas.
Which does not bode well for us compensation-wise at all.

Well, if any of you gents want to get your mind off it and avoid twiddling thumbs, someone could do some sleuthing on the Port board for the thread where they were getting Horny Francis and see whether there were ITKs and/or leaks.

Port finished second last year in the home and away, now looking down the barrel of 15th.

Well and truly the biggest disappointment of 2025.

They don't offer us what we want, then they won't be getting anything.

They can sing their INXS song all they want.

Jesus the NAS talk has gone quiet from a Media perspective.
Sacked coaches and the terrible state of his ex-club take precedence.
