Don't forget our terrible goal accuracy. One of ours made a point in the main forum game day thread and I believe it. We raise or lower our standards based on who we are playing. It's weird.

It's 2 30 am here and I just got home.

I went to the game. Got a free ticket, with an eagles supporting mate.

Too many crazy highlights. That 1st quarter was good.

Murphy Reids goal from the tight angle. Goal of the year contender.

Mitch Georgiadis had a set shot near my area on that forward 50 flank.

I kept yelling "Spray it". My eagles mate yelled Georgie Poorgie! He then sprays it. LoL

Never thought I would say this. But I have to partially thank my eagles mate tonight for helping us get over the line.

We had a few attempts to from 2014 to 2024 to knock off Port.

We should of won last year In round 5 to be honest. Maybe date didn't fall our way.

I thought it was funny people said Port Adelaide had no chance to win this game. That was bulls**t.

I thought we were done when Connor Rozee kicked a goal to get Port that one point lead.

Yeah I put $50 on Port Adelaide at $4. I don't care. I am happy to lose the $50 and Freo get the win.



Adelaide oval denied me the full score board. They took ports name down before I had the chance to do it.

I don't care. It was a good win, despite having making it hard to get the job done.

8 goals conceded in the second quarter, we’re 4th, amazingly and it’s ****ing awesome, but it’s simply unsustainable to keep winning like this.

That was a horrible 2nd quarter. That nearly cost us the game.

I did predict in another thread that if we were gonna win, it would be tight.

I predicted that Port were gonna hang with us for 3 and a half quarters. They did just that.

I also predicted a 3 or 4 goal won. Which wasn't correct but glad we got the win

I was watching the game at a friend’s house and was apoplectic going into the 4th quarter. We left for home because i wasn’t sure i would manage the rest of the game without destroying their tv. Full time just as I drove into the driveway.

I just want us to gain finals experience to set us up for a real tilt next year. winning it all would be a massive bonus.

I know we’re not playing champagne footy but the fact that we’re stil
winning all these close ones is so much better than where we were end of last year during our great collapse. Belief can’t be bought, and our squad finally has that. I just wish we could switch on earlier and put teams away that we should emphatically, but i’m hopeful that will be the next phase of our growth.

Agree that JL and the coaching team seem to respond tactically a little bit foo late. The poor starts are on the boys though.

I was saying that at the time. Who cares if he's winded... not a good enough reason to stop the game ffs.

Umpires simply can not stop the game for these reasons. Otherwise we are going to have coaches tell players to lay down and slow up the game to allow defences to be set up.
Football for those who have played it is a game of attrition to wear your opponent down, if they are tired or winded we do not stop games. Concussion or serious injury only FFS.

Thought Ras was very good.
Umpiring was terrible. Amiss assaulted, no free, Voss 100% mark not played were standouts.
The players belief is rising and you can see it.
I have a gut feeling that Melbourne will win today and some pressure comes of us to make the 8.....then we can just focus on top 4 knowing that we are playing finals.

I loved that that comparison was made. I turned to my mate and said: Difference is Ballas will get under your skin, Voss will get under your skin and physically back himself up. Scarlett wouldn't be able to deck Voss without ending up near comatose himself.

We have an issue with some opposition clearances walking it through the front door. Butters often tonight.

I think it’s a tremendous win from the position we were in. Down about 15 and we clawed our way back.

Reid kicked 2 massive goals in the 3rd.

Wish we had someone with the speed and power to burst through the centre stoppage like butters or Cripps. And on top of that someone to nullify the opposition when they do it.
Darcy not allowing the the oppo ruck to drop the ball down at their feet would be a good place to start.
Jackson needs to stop the ruck from grabbing the ball and bursting away.

Whatever the case may be, I’m in the camp of just banking the 4 points and moving on…not only is the belief growing within the group that we can now run down teams from behind, but surely it must play of the minds of opposition too, that we won’t say die and will keep coming, something we can’t say about Freo in recent years…

I thought Brayshaw had the worst first half over ever seen him play. He got better as the game went on. But that first half he was terrible.
