Even the commentary which usually is not insightful at all were showing and 'commenting' on the lack of movement and options for Ollie on multiple of his kicks. Our distributors look dogshit because our forward of the ball space creation and leads and options are actual dogshit. Actual piss
Ben King showed more forward craft last night than our team has all year.

I’m not sure what Jordan Russell does.

Name one AFL-level ball butcher who magically became a great kick after practicing hard. I’ll wait.
Carrazzo.

Okay, if the criteria is "great kick" it probably doesn't apply, but from ball butcher to decent for a ball magnet type is handy and about all you can hope for.

Watched the game again this morning.
Positives - Evans is the obvious one, his level of kicking into the forward line was elite and something we are lacking. I can honestly say, I thought he would be a delist candidate before this round, so I'll gladly retract those thoughts.
Harry - I love his tackling efforts, just worked hard as a solo forward and I really wish Charlie at times tackled like Harry.
Cowan - I think he's coming along nicely and certainly one of our better long term prospects.
Wilson - Not a huge night but working slowly into an AFL footballer.
Motlop - One quarter of football where he shows you what we could have.....
Hollands - One of the few footballers that the difference between his best and worst is low, puts in effort each week. I'm not as concerned with his kicking as many on this board.

Negatives
Acres - Many times he makes bad decisions and his kicking skills are terrible, the wing position has changed and you really need a good kicker in this position.
Saad - He has two options in his game at the moment. The 15 meter easy kick or he just bombs it long. I feel like he hears the Woof and just boots it long. Then you add his dodgy defensive efforts around stoppages and he annoys me.
Motlop - 3 quarters of, why don't you play like the fourth?

Moir Yes
Okeefe Yes
Lord Yes
white No
WIlson ????
Young ????
White is a big yes.
Wilson is a yes. Needs more senior games.
Flynn needs a preseason under his belt.

Are you being a smart a$$? Ollie Hollands!!!!! Bloke is a mad Rez, piss him off
Carazzo, Italian for turnover. That used to get mentioned a lot on here in his early years. The he settled down and became a very good kick and a great shutdown player. Simmo was the same early on. Did you know he only had 3 touches on his first 6 games?

I would much rather Ollie in the side than Saad.
He is completely cooked and has much greater negative influence on our games than Ollie.
Saad’s hammies are cooked.

Well .. can't say the Match commitee hasn't been consistent over the years.

Players that do stuff all continue to be rewarded with another game the following week.
I'm guessing ---> We are giving them the opportunity to come good eventually. It has happened in the past.
Yep - Explains why Carlton's small forwards keep getting games week after week

I reckon Kreuzer has to go as ruck coach. Our rucks are useless against rucks who don't jump in the middle. He's trained them to be too nice, without mongeral. A ruck at a centre bounce who has a straight leading leg should be taken out of the game with a knee. Plain and simple, these big guys ruck against TDK and just stand under the ball, how they don't cop a knee to the ribs or thighs is beyond me.

It's been driving me mad all year how rucks just stand under the ball at centre bounce and DeKoning just runs into them and loses the hitout.

O'Keefe has not been taught to jump correctly either. It's a wonder he has not been hurt.

Nothing. In industry rep is sub par. Don't know how - like Lloyd - he's survived being booted by cook or Voss. If anything that's been the biggest issue the last 4 years. Nonsense shit

Hollands has been probably playing football since the age of four.

If it hasn’t clicked in 15 years, it’s not going to now just because he works on it in the off season.

Frankie Evans, I think a lot of us saw what others did, was probably going to be hard to jump into a senior team coming so late in the process but has really built himself in nicely.

He is ahead of Fogarty, Fantasia and possibly Durdin now as far as small forward go so absolutely worth pursuing another year

Nice summary, I'd add Weiters to the negatives last night, positioning and decision making was horrible.

It is an interesting topic. Let's say you are an inaccurate pass. If I tell you that I will give you $1M in 12mths time to be able to kick it to me in the centre circle from a corner of the centre square (approx 35m) six times out of eight, you can be on the move and I will be leading into the circle for you - do you think you could do it? Alternatively I could make the incentive - you will keep your job

We were dismal for (at least) 2.5 quarters again last night.

We were never coming back from 45 points down at 3-4 time.... yes, a glimmer if Fog had kicked truly....

But that is our lot. Too many blokes who are just 'average'.... or often invisible.

We look disorganised, uncertain, too passive against anyone half decent.... and we cough the ball up way, way too much.

And yes, Hollands is a significant contributor on that front. Not alone granted.

63 games under his belt now, time to stop making excuses...

And our top six again failed to shine.... Harry OK, Weiters a bit better, Crippa needs a holiday....

TDK - not sure why they're even playing him at all let alone last night... Pitto was a far better match up against Witts.

Sure, we're missing Charlie, Walsh, Cerra, E. Hollands (will we ever see him again?) etc. but....

The Frank Evans Medal has a nice ring to it.

For the most outstanding player each year to have been elevAted from VFL.😉
What about a combined Geelong/Port Adelaide/Carlton award.

The player who kicks the most goals across those combinations of games each season wins the Frankie J Evans Medal. Would rival the Anzac Medal for prestige.
