The Lions are a well drilled, well coached side.
Despite their reliance on chip kicks to uncontested situations they do it so efficiently their ball movement is still fast. The whole team seem to know exactly what's going on and they all make position for their next 2-3 plays. Because they so rarely turn it over they can leave their men, set up in advance, and it comes off for them.
Hopefully that degree of speed, skill and cohesion can be us in 2 years time.
Perhaps our only chance was to nail all our early goals and keep pressure on and thus hope to force some more errors. Alas, not to be.
If the Lions were full strength that would have been ugly indeed.
Hard to see us turning it around enough to threaten the Dogs next week.

He has struggled with nervous starts for years. Has admitted it and that he gets help for it. Massive liability in big games.

His kicking is terrible and has been for a long time. Add to that an inability to get through a season without injury.

just gotta laugh at this club, thought we were done with underwhelming performances in big games but they fooled me

biggest game we’ve had since 2022 finals series and they dish that up

Friday night, against the reigning premiers who haven’t even been that good, club legend announcing his retirement during the week, game sold out and that’s the best we can do? like 8 straight behinds to start the game and some of the dumbest plays I’ve seen from players that should know better (Treacy playing on in the goal square for no reason and getting tackled resulting in a miss)

just awful game from start to finish, absolutely just making up the numbers if we sneak through to finals

haven’t been this disappointed in the team in a fair while

Heard so many similar posts/opinions since.Freos inception,.have always been totally supportive of my team despite this. Quickly running out of support sadly
