Noticed on 3 occasions last night Murphy put himself front and centre of the ball drop after a crows kick before realising the kick was off and he needed to provide the contest.

He just isnt smart, doesn't have spacial awareness and is dreadful at reading the play. Those 3 contests he followed an instruction manual, rather than read the play

True, can he play anywhere else?
Max? We’ve seen him forward.

But I think the way Hinge went last night it could even be Max for Hinge and keep Bond as the “stopper”/Luke Brown defender.

I more meant can bond play elsewhere (i.e. defensive half forward) when max comes back. I think hinge is sore and needs a rest but I wouldn't drop him.

Hard to comment much as I was watching from under the eastern stand with concrete in the way for half the game, but bloody hell that felt good. Didn't feel the same as the Brisbane game where it felt like they were coming and we luckily held on. Felt like we had more control this time.

Collingwood played their best footy in q1. High pressure, elite kicking. We did the opposite. Some really poor decisions and execution coming out of defence and into f50. Keane, Hinge and TT culprits.

Tidied this up in q2 and then I think the rain helped us a bit in making it a slog. We weren't at our best, but we're good at grinding out a game now.

Really needed that win. Belief is important.

What a win! It finally feels good to win by under a goal. I had ptsd when Collingwood had it inside 50 with 30 seconds to go. Our whole team stood up when it mattered the most. We’ve come back from deficits in the first quarter and run out wins against Pies, Lions and Hawks where previous years we might’ve folded.

It’s crazy how some people are complaining after that win in this thread. Crows have beaten every single contender for the flag this year apart from Geelong. (Fremantle don’t count). Biggest loss of the year is 19 points. Game clear on the top of the ladder with Norf next week, so went from 15th to 1st in the space of a season. Won 8 games in a row now. Defense was massive again, best in the league by a mile. No new injuries. Rachele, Michalaney and Laird all should be back into the side for finals and people are still whinging? I’m absolutely stoked with that game.

He was referring to Howe.

Credit to McRae - gracious presser giving us credit where it's due. No excuses, no whining about umpires.

Nah, but whinged about playing 3 games in twelve days.

He got a 9 day break vs 6 day break and we were coming back from Perth.

Does anyone really think Dowling or Draper would have put in worse performances than either of Harry or Murph?
It seems to me Nicks is trying to give Murp every opportunity for a contract extension.
I rag on Murph as much as the next bloke but his role was clear. Sit on JD.

HS’s selection was the more baffling one.

You're being way too kind.

One of the joys of Bigfooty is shooting across to read the Crows' game day commentary on the Port board after any Crows win.

Dear God, it's Deliverance country over there.

You can literally smell the pig grease and hear the banjos.
The thing that kills them the most is that we are more closely following "The Creed" than they have been the last few years. They are so pissed we are tough and physical and playing for each other.

We don't have any pretty boy noodle arms in our side.

To me what has changed is the ability to turn it around quickly, sure we went 4 goals down early but we caught up in a flash and went on to win. (Same as the hawthorn game)
Even last year we’d spend all game getting the margin back and then just lose.

Are there still people that think the commentators aren't incredibly biased towards Vic sides? Dunstall and Lyon were barracking for the Pies all night. You can even hear Lyon refer to the Pies as "we" like he's one of their supporters.

I'm pretty disappointed with Dunstall. He was graceful in our shit years but now that we're decent, he sees us as a threat and his Victorian lizard brain instincts are kicking in.

Ugly: all the media want to talk about this morning is a non call on a throw from Keane. Did Collingwood even manage a legal handball in the first half? What a joke. Not to mention Milera's handball called a throw just a month or so ago.

AFL and media need a Vic team in the GF. The thought of two non-Vic teams again terrifies them, particularly if it's GC or GWS
