You are barking up the wrong tree with me.
If the staff member was on 75k, leaving for a promotion to go to 95k or so, then no, I would not walk them or be a bit cold. It's life changing, will really help them, and they owe me nothing. But we are talking about a high level employee who we are offering over 1 million per year, leaving for not that much more in the grand scheme of things. I don't want to go into what I earn but the difference between 1.2 and 1.7 barely moves the needle.
So yeh, if my employee was upper management let's say C level executive and they left for more money, you bet your arse they would be walked on the spot.
Let's not start pretending TDK hasn't been looked after, and would have been continued to be looked after. You are either out or in.....Ps, NAS stayed at STkilda after his crazy godfather offer from Adelaide, what's the difference?
If you want to leave for the money fine, go, but you go on the spot and we owe him ZERO
I can absolutely tell you if my GM left to a competitor for a 25% pay increase she would be walked on the spot. That extra 500k per year over a short period of time 100% moves the needle. He wont get another contract in afl at this level again.
C level don’t get walked in that fashion bud, they have an obligation serve out notice period. Or they are put on gardening leave. Only walked if they have done something that warrants it. Leaving for more money is not one.
You’re a hard task manager, coming across very successful and more than likely are well loved by your shareholders.
And that’s all cool. You do you.
Last question, what’s your thoughts on egg man possibly returning?

I wouldnt be picking him then.
Edit: But unfortunately I think we will. Voss mentioned they will prioritise players that didn't play VFL and that's McGovern, White and Pittonet. Can't see Pittonet coming in so leaves the other two for Fogarty/Lord. Stuff the stupid VFL scheduling.

Star Blue preparing for change ahead of crucial list shake-up

McDonald is a hack. Too soft to make it as a spearhead KPF.Think people are overstating what we could possibly get for Charlie.
No chance we're getting 2 first rounders + a player.
I posted previously, I've heard from a good source that Sydney is coming hard for him and that their first rounder + Logan McDonald was being floated.
McDonald doesn't do it for me, but i'd suggest there would be a nice B+ grader we could get along with their first rounder.
Clubs know Charlie's knee is cooked. 3 knee operations in 1 season.
I'd rather just not have him - even for peanuts.Neither would I.
I reckon GW wouldn't be concerned about telling him that he hasn't really lived up to the expectations of his initial contract. So another year on that money really isn't justified.
If you want to stay next year, we'll negotiate a fairer contract.

If we don’t trade Charlie there is no spot for Khamis unless we swing Kemp (or Khamis) back

Ummm. Not sure. Traded to us,never delisted.
Don't think he has the tenure
Not cast in stone that Cinc would be cut, but he has had some debilitating injuries and seems to be still hindered. He is no spring chicken turning 29 in December and requires elevation from the rookie list to stay around. He is a warrior and absolutely ticks boxes on effort and dedication, but sometimes that isn’t enough. What ever happened with Cincotta? Seemed to be a lock, as a tagger/forward then got injured and never returned. Purely due to the injury or other factors?
