Surely they don’t flirt with it that closely, they need to put Essendon away and well to regain some confidence before a finalAgree. Wonder if the Suns will try to manage a 20 point win v Bombers.

Why?GWS @ Showgrounds (Saturday Arvo)
Collingwood @ MCG (Friday)
Geelong @ MCG (Saturday)
Would take a miracle but it would be the softer side of the draw

Why?
GWS (Twilight surely) will be fine. We match up well and Weds/Butler back will give us the steel and drive needed to touch them up. I can't see another 10 point interstate loss again. We've learnt heaps this year and Sam will have us firing.
Pies are cooked and Cats don't beat us when it matters.
GF anyone?
On paper the midfield is a struggle, but it was worse against Brisbane.Pies will be roadkill. That said, do we actually match up that well on the Giants? We’re 2-4 against them since Covid and have never won at the Showgrounds. Do we have the midfield to go with them?
I was reflecting on this and the 3pt Adelaide win in rd14 after the brisbane loss. Had we not ground out those 2 tough wins we would be in Bali already right now. Things could have been better but also easily they could have been worse.Well, us beating the Bulldogs at Marvel is the reason we’re playing finals and the Dogs are going to miss, so I disagree the Collingwood win is our only good win for the season.
But yes, there is clearly scope for improvement, as we’re not yet the finished article.
Totally agree that the Pies are going out in straight sets.Pies will be roadkill. That said, do we actually match up that well on the Giants? We’re 2-4 against them since Covid and have never won at the Showgrounds. Do we have the midfield to go with them?
Clamp Toby and don't let Hogan and Cadman run amok, and we should be ok.Totally agree that the Pies are going out in straight sets.
The Giants are also just going. Totally reliant on two prime movers - nothing like Brisbane. Again, no reason we shouldnt beat them even on the paddock.
Reckon Lions will beat Cats, so it might be a Brisbane PF.GWS @ Showgrounds (Saturday Arvo)

I'm not disappointed in losing last night because Brissy are a better team than us.
But I don't think GWS are. Imo, we can beat them, even at the cow paddock.
Nothing better to help spearhead a run at a flag than overcoming a hoodoo.Pies will be roadkill. That said, do we actually match up that well on the Giants? We’re 2-4 against them since Covid and have never won at the Showgrounds. Do we have the midfield to go with them?
that'd be a disaster.Reckon Lions will beat Cats, so it might be a Brisbane PF.
Take Me Home, Country Roadsthat'd be a disaster.

Thank God we conceded those 3 late goals to Melbourne.
Everything happens for a reason. Break the Giants hoodoo, get the bye (Pies in the SF) and get the Cats in our favourite slot (PF weekend). Of course all things could turn to shit if we finish seventh and run into the Lions and Crows in successive weeks (so Perth, to Brisbane to Adelaide)Thank God we conceded those 3 late goals to Melbourne.
Would laugh if they played silly buggers and lost the game. Would still be shit for us though. The Suns losing against the Power really ****ed us here. I was hoping for a Pies into Suns first two weeks…Didn't think they'd need to win by that much.
86 to 60 seems like a realistic possibility.
I'm suddenly more convinced that we'll be going to Perth, which I definitely don't want.
that'd be a disaster.
Fremantle and the Gold Coast aren’t beating Geelong at the MCG. A loss on Friday will just set up a Grand Final against the Lions (we might have a shot against the Cats at the MCG, but we’re not beating a stronger Lions at the Gabba)Geelol straight sets would be a disaster?
