Yes, Merrett would average 25-30 posi's a week easily and he's a beautiful user.
I've been a Mitch Lewis fan from dot, can't see Hawks trading him tho, he adds to their forward line if he stays fit.

A 200cm guy that takes pack marks who hadn’t played in over 12 months and they picked in the midst of a run at top 4? That’s wishful thinking.

If you break it down you’re only going to get him out if you’re offering say 4 or 5 years at $800k. How far do trade discussions go if you offer a player that much then enter trade discussions at that level?

There’s something there with Chesser, but he needs continuity and it’s the right time to leave because he’d be guaranteed two years elsewhere and if it doesn’t work out in 2026 with WC that’s it for him. I think he’s friends with Joe McGuire so I always thought if he moved home we’d be in the mix for his services.

I've worked with my mates before, what's wrong with that? Although some mates are terrible to work with, some are also great to work with.
Sport is quite different though, it's better. I've played sport with my mates and it was AWESOME!

Bit harsh. I would assume there is a strong correlation to players' happiness on and off field to team success.

If we could recruit a player who has potential and is also good mates with some of our players, that's advantageous as it creates a welcoming environment and allows players to be comfortable with each other. I suspect that's why Membrey was happy to come to the Pies due to his connection with Mitchell, or Houston coming due to his connection with the Daicos boys.

I would welcome working with some former colleagues again as I know I work well with them because I'm comfortable around them and I respect them. Takes time to get this from a fresh start, if at all.

I'm surprised Craig Kelly was brutally honest today on SEN about the two free agents in Miochek and Elliott.

Pendlebury, Sidebottom and Howe are all playing for under 500k each next year. It's a mutal decision to set the club up by the leaders.

Elliott and Miochek are fishing for more cash. Good on them, but they won't get it.

Mihocek was a late start to his career and knows he probably only has 1 good season left so can't really begrudge him trying to extract maximum value for his last contract.

Elliot always seems to push his contract to the last second so we'll see.
