On the eve of the 2025 finals, I will pour out some of this tonight for all the Carlton homies (read nuffies)

View attachment 2416176

so you'd like to announce you poured one out last night?

or you WILL pour one out on the eve.. which is last night? or are you referring to tonight? which is the day/night of the finals, not the eve.

can you please clarify? perhaps you should actually just stop drinking all together, your brain isn't working.

yeah its a tough one.

i figured these blokes in reality have no idea what they want. curnow may want out now, but if we're any good next year and he's kicking bags in front of a huge crowd at the 'G next year, then everything will be forgotten by round 4, surely?

has there been any recent examples of a club holding onto a disgruntled player and it going even more pear shaped?
Hasn't gone pear-shaped, but Petracca's body language has been pretty awful for a leader this year and his trade value will have plummeted. No idea how Melbourne feel about it, but I suspect that they might regret refusing to look at trade options at the end of 2024.

It's pretty rare for a club to keep players who push hard enough for a trade for it to go public - probably only going to happen with blokes like Trac and Charlie - particularly if it happens late and acquiring club hasn't had time to work out a high enough trade price and created the salary cap space.

those guys are soooo 2019-ish.

you paid chris mayne $800k a year lol.

edit: just revisiting this quote.
$900k for Perryman = overpaid (even the most biased collingwood fan would admit this)
$800k + picks for Schultz = overpaid
$900k + picks + players for Houston = overpaid

in the recent past:
mayne $800k
grundy $1bn and forced to trade
treloar $1.5m and forced to trade

you sound like a non-well run club tbh.
And guess who is entering another finals series as a top 4 team for the 5th time in the last 8 seasons?

Edited for your convenience

Yeah they were shit this year.

Maybe will improve under a new coach. Neither are requesting a trade again are they?
They are cooked

Oliver has fried his brain and Petracca is more interested in making salads 🥗

The club should have cashed them in last year, when they had serious value, will the Blues learn from this mistake?

Petracca may be scarred from almost dying, he also didn’t like Goodwin so I can see him bouncing back.

They wouldn’t have got anything for Oliver last year either tbf.

I meant pear shaped as in culture killer more than anything.

It seems strange that the Carlton club award has the word "best" in it. Don't you think they should change it to "Least Shit and Fairest."
Don't be like that.

Remember over the off season we were told that not all best and fairests are equal, and it is particularly hard to get a podium finish in the Carlton version?

LOLOLOL.

Another Carlton loser talking about a period 60-30 years ago.
Ah, you see in the Bluverse / Bombreverse, the further back an achievement was, the more special it is. And there's nothing like the thrill they get from remembering the wins from before they were even born.

I mean, sure, it's nice that the Cats won a few back in the 20s - 60s, but they could have won 50 for all I care.

I've still only got to see four of them in the '07-'22 era, and I'll take them over acting like some Carlton flog gloating about 1963.

Well when you’ve been shit for 30 years and literally have no bullets in the chamber we need to be more accepting of our Carlton friends and their sad little victories. Bless their little hearts
