Could be, Acres has been linked to WCE a bit the last couple months though from memory.Where’d Acres come from? Thought it was more Motlop or gov

We can get Dean and Ison using other methods. Got 2 years of future picks to move if needed. So no Dean?
Yeah ive seen him linked but for some reason I feel like I remember seeing something saying he’d be staying, maybe I’m remembering it wrongCould be, Acres has been linked to WCE a bit the last couple months though from memory.
We need 26 picks for Cody, and 27 (Tassie) picks will be given very low value. We can get Dean and Ison using other methods. Got 2 years of future picks to move if needed.
Not fit enough? Will be ever be? Was drafted in 2019. Has been in the system a long time already. It’s not an easy team to break into, they have a very potent forward line already and not lacking pace all over the ground.
I don’t think he’s fit enough yet to keep doing gut busting runs over an over and over. So, he would be speculative for us to pick up but he does have something we lack in speed and his goal sense is pretty reasonable also.
He’s the type you add to a trade like those infomercials where you buy something for $100 and get 5 extra things for another $10. May be handy, probably not, but it’s cost you **** all anyway.
Interesting they all have the same manager. Maybe we’ll see Curnow also get to StKilda, now that would be a lifestyle change for Charlie…I read that Paul Connors manages Curnow, Silvagni and TDK. Might have earned himself a ban at the Carlton Football Club with the way he has gone about all this.
Foundations are not there, that's the issue. Foundations are either falling (leaving), failing (aging, chronic injury concerns) or forgotten (lack of quality 'outside' types). It will cave in before any celebrations are held there if we don't take heed.Baby steps is too passive.
There is a renovation going on and some heavy lifting to be done.
Foundations are there, need a good fit out.
To be seen if voss sees the project through, at the moment he's a contractor preparing for the master builder
Trading Martin pissed a few senior players off as they felt he was a critical cog in the forward line due to his running patterns and intensity to hold ball in.
I'm just responding to the Yazz post in the no discussion thread anyway. Tipping the Blues will have a plan to match a bid on Dean and Ison no matter where they come in.We need 26 picks for Cody, and 27 (Tassie) picks will be given very low value.
if we got band 1 for Jack that would probably go close to getting a deal done. Can't see WCE giving us #2 for #11 + #20 ...
Just not gonna happen.
The only way we can possible get our hands on pick #2 is by trading Charlie.
And the Swans will have to be the ones to satisfy WCE for that pick via either Warner or maybe #12 + McDonald but that's unlikely too...

Getting ahead of the Dean pickJust a bit confused why we would want pick 2 in this draft? Unless we will go for Lindsay a bit early. Not a fan of spending a pick like that on a ruck like CDT
Maybe acres involved to as a player swap?Yazz goes BANG!!!

I get that part but for what we would have to give up for pick 2 it seems a bit of a waste in this draft with the the top so compromised. And also finding picks for Dean/Ison will be difficult if we give up both compensation picksGetting ahead of the Dean pick

Yeh like I noted if we are going to take Lindsay or Duursma maybe then I get it. Would be hesitant on using an early pick like that on a ruck.Lindsay would be a great get for us...
I don't buy into this "bit early" business... Butters was pick 12, Cripps was 13...
Few updates from last 24 hours and a couple of dinners:
Carlton have agreed terms with both Motlop and McGovern. That said, both have confirmed to club they are prepared to be part of trades (iwest only for Motlop ) and their contracts won’t be inked until said discussions have been fully explored.
Discussion with WCE are focussed on their expected compo pick(#2) in exchange for blues two compo picks and potentially player swap. WCE waiting still on AFL re concession request.
If curnow goes - Sydney at this stage more likely than GC but blues expect this may change if GC lose first final - position privately same as public - any trade must include A grade talent. Club confident of curnow commitment to program if trade cannot occur.
Wright believes club had too many yes men this year who were not prepared to challenge decisions. Wants greater debate across list management, coaching and footy ops. Davies mandate is to hold people accountable and be ruthless in pursuit of success and lift standards across the board.
