I don't think you can just look it at as "they just scraped into the eight". They were playing for a top 4 spot in the final round and only two games separated 2nd from 8th. There's barely anything between the top 8 sides this year, so it's a lot more even than 1st vs 8th would suggest.

They shouldn't be a team to be shit scared of though. You gotta beat top 8 teams to win the flag, Hawks at home is doable.

On form yeah, but on paper I don't agree. They are weaker compared to last time (on paper) and we are stronger on paper overall, even with Rankine out.

True and it's also true that every year the media runs down the losers of the QFs and pumps up the winners of the EFs before order is usually restored on semi final weekend. It's much more even than normal so maybe that doesn't apply this year. It would still sting to be minor premier and lose a home knockout final to the side that finished 8th, three wins behind us.

I'm backing us to regroup and refocus and if we can do that I think we'll win.

But if we panic again it's going to be ugly.

One thing though - no minor premier out in straight sets... The top 8 has never before been so even. Any of the top 8 can beat any of the top 8, but the hysteria of Crows suddenly being shit is OTT.

This is the best team we've had in a loooooong time. Better than 2017 IMO. Reckon we'll be a lot more finals-prepared after last week.

Spot on. Forget the happy clappers...if we go out in straight sets it's a monumental failure of a season. Nicks is definitely not the man, and never has been. Only reason why we rose up the ladder is because of the addition of player talent compared to last year.
