This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

They’re all coming out of the woodwork now. Looking forward to a Kyle Reimers sit down with Whateley or someone soon.

Holy shit, the similarities with Redman's quotes... They've clearly been briefed.

Whoever is doing their PR should probably look for a new career.

He's not worth two 1st round picks, but you're willing to offer R1 pick and Cam McKenzie?

Yet two R1 picks are likely to be 7ish and one In the late teens. I would not trade Cam for a pick in the late teens.
Going to have to give up something. The players i listed would all be players I'd expect Essendon to be interested in. And considering there's (Apparently) interest in CMac, i included him.

Just when I thought Essendon couldn't handle this worse, out comes Redman.

With all of these childish tantrums playing out in public, Merrett can't possibly return now. This is all just dropping the very strong bargaining position Essendon had with a contracted player, had they played their cards maturely.

What a disaster of a club they are.

Just thinking about getting these deals done and what player stocks we hold

Given the weakness of the draft and the possible reluctance of other clubs wanting more picks this season, would this be the order and approximate value of our trade assets:

Ward (6-8)
McKenzie (8-10)
Scrimshaw (10-12)
Lewis (14-18)
Jiath (20-24)
Finn Maginness (26-28)
Reeves (26-30)
Ramsden (28-32)
Hustwaite (34-38)
Serong (36-40)
Bailey MacDonald (42-48)
Seamus Mitchell (44-52)
Jasper Scaife (46-54)
Frost Blank ... not much

Im not saying we should trade Ward or McKenzie or Scrimshaw or any of the tbh but if we do need to give something of value up i'm curious to know what their market value is seen as in relation to draft picks.

They’re all coming out of the woodwork now. Looking forward to a Kyle Reimers sit down with Whateley or someone soon.

"If you trace the slow unravelling of the Essendon Football Club — not the headlines, not the scandals, but the soul — you can, if you wish, return to a curious moment: the parting of ways with Kyle Reimers. It seemed trivial at the time, a flicker on the radar, an eccentric forward shown the door. Yet in hindsight, it was a rupture — the first visible crack in the Bombers’ sense of who they were.

From that moment, the club that once radiated swagger and certainty began to second-guess itself. Decisions became tentative, identities blurred, and a generation of players came and went without ever touching the mantle their predecessors wore so naturally.

And now, in 2025, the echo of that fracture resounds in the most symbolic of departures: Zach Merrett, the captain, the heartbeat, walking away to the club Essendon has for a century defined itself against. It is not simply a transfer — it is a reckoning. The ripples from Reimers to Merrett tell the story of a club still searching for the thread it lost all those years ago.

And how I have with me, Kyle Reimers. Good morning, Kyle." - Gerard Whately sometime tomorrow morning

Watching Essendon fans now claim that Merrett has actually been the problem at Essendon is the funniest cope i think i have seen since 'they weren't banned for being drug cheats it was for mis governance'.

Price coming down by the day.....

At this rate we will be able to get him for a packet of chips.

Clearly some of their leaders are eyeing off a nice pay bump or 'misery tax' as Gerard put it.
