Does he actually look where he taps it? As a midfielder you’d have to notice how often he taps it straight down the throat of the opposition. How do you not get p!ssed off about that to a point where it’s being raised internally, often, as an issue.

I'm so tired of losing so many contests, consequently seeing everyone get sucked into them - then lose anyway and get ripped to shreds on the outside.

We haven't had a decently coached midfield for nearly a decade, or had any top tier midfielders in that time.

Godden and VB have to go, it's proven they cannot develop anything. Where are Jones, Edwards, Ryan, Pedlar etc? If all these first round picks are so shit they can't get a game, someone has to be accountable for that.

Everything good we do seems to come from a moment of individual talent winning out (e.g. Thilthorpe contested marks, Rankine spinning out of a tackle, Rachele hitting a ridiculous soccer, etc). WE can't coach a winning system. Just 'grind it out'. It's

I play social netball. We don’t even get coached and I know if my team mate is free I’ll drag myself and my player the hell away from her.

We look like kids when they play sport and they’re all focused on the ball so you end up with a pack around it. It’s cute when it’s a bunch of 5 year olds…..not so cute when it’s professional AFL players. But I agree. Our midfield coaching needs a shake up. Have been too bad for too long

needs to wear a lot of the blame though. That absolutely destroyed us mentally and ruined our set up. A stupid act by a bloke who alas has a history of being stupid. Time to grow up, and time to be AA level that his talent suggests he is.

Sid needs a big pre-season and we really need to se the rest of our 2024 draft picks.

The Rankine incident sapped every ounce of energy out of the club it doomed us.


Our club continues to back the boys in and trust the system and game plan not once have we adjusted for an opponent we got jumped 4 of the last 5 games at the start. How can you not be switched on for a final at home?? What more motivation do you need?

A pathetic effort to not win a single quarter in the two finals played at home.

What a complete waste of money for the Crows fans in attendance.

We were so far off our best in these two finals. There were three instances that stood out to me, down the southern end, that typified our fortnight.

Firstly Dawson, who had Cumming running into open space towards goal. A simple kick in front of him and it’s a guaranteed goal. Instead he snapped across his body and missed. Moment later Cummings opponent marked in front of goal, working back the other way.

Second, Fogarty was clear on the lead, with Tex needing to do a simple pass to give Fogarty a set shot, on the angle, but only 30m out. Tex went for goal from outside 50 and missed.

Thirdly, Keays was on the end of a chain of handballs and had only eyes for goal, and snapped under pressure and missed. Taylor had worked to the outside and Keays only needed to feed out one more time and Taylor gets an open look at goal from 30m out.

If you don’t reward those who work hard to get into better positions, they’ll stop working hard to get into better positions. It was selfish, non team first football. From our most senior players.

This happened last week as well, multiple times. It was as disappointing as being out muscled around the contest and being out marked because the opposition wanted to clunk the ball while we would get spoiled.

It is incredible how far we fell away in finals. Some of the individual efforts were appalling. Some of the coaching was baffling. Two of the most disappointing finals performances on the back of a great minor round. We shit the bed and have a mess to clean up for next season.

I think that’s the mental fragility. You make bad decisions. Someone wants to be the hero to lift the team. Those are the acts that show we crumble under pressure, not physical pressure, but the mental load of expectation

I have to agree, this is the most inspid performance by a side in the Top 4 that I've ever seen.

We laughed at Port going out on straights sets, but they've never gone out losing two consecutive home finals.

Brisbane lost 2 straight home finals in 2019, but they at least fired a shot in that second final whereas we offered anything.

Last night was an embarrassment and we're a laughing stock.

Not wrong there!! But that old saying - you create your own luck.

We did nothing to impress the footy gods. The ball bounced accordingly and the shanks landed accordingly.

Frightened stilted ball movement. Awful positioning all over the ground.

We looked best in the first qtr after that hideous first 5 minutes when we then took control, created some separation and looked desperate for the only time in the entire match. After that our forward positioning and entries were a mess. The usual everyone flying for marks destroying each other. The system in disarray.

What a shambles it was.

All his fault? Our up field options weren't there. No movement. No separation. Nobody to kick to.

Like I said he could have blindly hacked it forward...to what? He was clearly one of our best.

I always thought we were a year or two early with our rise to the minor premiership this year. In reality we should have finished around the 4-6mark, but a good run with injuries and a soft draw ended up with us higher than we should have been. Our two finals performances just confirming that we are not ready to challenge yet. Still think we are a couple years away. We will likely drop back down next year and could even miss finals.

Our resistance to draft midfielders and bring in rucks over the last 6-7 years was clearly on show last night. We continue to ignore our midfield year after year. It wasn't until last year when we finally drafted Draper with a high pick, too little too late. We desperately need a gun midfielder in there but I can't see how we can do that this off season.

I still think we have the core group to get us to a premiership, but in reality we still have a lot of work to do and it could take us 6 years like what happened with Brisbane's run to the flag.

This was a massive blow to the team and our finals performance.
