Smashed all over the park, but what didn't make sense to me was how poor Soligo, Peatling, Berry, etc were. The midfield was hopeless save for small periods. No one thought those players listed were elite before finals, but they'd been doing a decent job.

Rankine obviously makes a big difference, but he won't be enough to bridge the gap.

Curtin needs to be tried through there, Michaellany again. So bland and reactive as is.

Nicks knows in the AFL it is meaningless unlike the EPL.
I would have preferred him to say "WE FAILED " but that requires an honest real analysis
of his role.
We have paid an enormous price for a limited coach an ultra -conservative overly defensive operator utterly without
football nous who has made a virtue mouthing sanctimonious WOKE rubbish.
At least Pike identified that once part of the problem he resigned; he could have no part in the solution.
Nicks will never resign as he doesn't see his coaching & development as the reason for the failure.
We could recruit the best mid fielder in the competition and he'd play him at half back of in the forward pocket.
His press conference was on a par with our performance. Gutless, dishonest, a sham and a betrayal of the supporters who pay for the shitshow !

Nicks who trademark when he started - aside from his defensive pressure non-negotiable - was his dynamic ball movement.

I remember at the time I thought it was a 50/50 - spoil/collect Kennedy's head option taken by Balme. I saw it from the opposite angle though.

Its rare that it happens TBH. A lot of talk about Langford and I get it, but weve already got a much better version of him in the side.

I think Sid does handball too much and we're trying to coach it out of him. Instead what of what we should be doing, which is harness that will good kicks around him.

Something that stood out to me was Thithorpe pulling a face when they were lined up for the National Anthem.

He will be fine and the more games we can get into him the quicker he will get there. He is exactly the type of midfielder we need.
