So we fold like wet tissue and let a player hold us to ransom to get to where he wants? Or do we stand firm and get the deal we want for said player and if we don't, we remind him that he is contracted to 29.

This does what to our reported toxic culture?

I always thought that if your culture was off you get rid of the root cause. BTW I don't know how badly Charlie wants out but if he wants it badly then I reckon we'll get unders, just my opinion.

Big forwards who've changed club - bug in both already established and star/ very good status and also a big forward.

Lynch - premierships
Cameron - premiership
Hogan - worth it. No premiership
Daniher - premiership
Hall - premiership
Gunston - (Bickley award for clubs best young player) premierships
Fevola - fail
Dixon - fail

Cheeky inclusions (not established guns before trade but looked good)
Boyd - premiership
Kennedy - premiership

Who am I missing in that last 20 years or so of key / gun forwards moving around? It's uncanny how successful these moves look for the purchasing club on average. Premierships are hard to win and clubs bringing in big name forwards win them…?

Bwahaha... yeah nah. He is our player. He is contracted. If a club wants him badly enough, they will cough up something that we will want. If they don't, then we keep the contracted player.

Here's a little aphorism you might know. Wish in one hand, shit in the other... see which one fills up first. Charlie can wish all he wants to leave the club, but the reality is that we hold the whip hand, not him. If we make him the most expensive forward in the VFL, then we do it. That's one way of fixing our toxic player driven culture.

Are we also happy to completely ignore our reportedly tough new "if you don't want to wear the Navy Blue then FO" mantra?

We're talking the talk, are we gonna walk the walk?
I also read/hear a lot from GW (and others) about ‘Carlton first’. I take that to mean any proposal we deem substandard will be dismissed no matter whose feelings we hurt.

Exactly.

AFLPA and their agents have to much power now and are screwing clubs over.

Hope Wright plays hard ball and holds Charlie to his contract unless we get overs for him. **** this crying about a player wants out when they are contracted and they signed it. Clubs are being bent over now and we need to stand up.

Wright has a history of holding players to contracts as well that he deems are not worth letting go for unders.

Outside speed and meters gained type of player.

Great ball use? Not sure about that. This year he’s looked very nervous and unsure with ball in hand and his efficiency has suffered.

That said, we don’t have his type on the list and I think he’s a smart get.

Think Khamis, Chesser and CJ are all good pick-ups for us. Can see them all in the best 22.

Dude... we hold his contract. He goes to whoever gives us the best deal. If he says I don't want to go there, we say no problems... you're still a blue next year.

We're not counting chickens... we own the damned farm. Actually, that was my aunty... they had an egg farm down in southeast of Melbourne.

I’d be happy to see Charlie go to Geelong for a bag of chips if it invited the mother of all forensic examinations from the AFL and the end of all their under the table payments. But we all know it would just mean Andrew Dillon taking the opportunity to sit down for a beer with some of their head honchos and a press release that there’s nothing to see here.

If Charlie heads off, I hope it’s to play in front of 20,000 supporters in that stadium on the Gold Coast with more than half of the fans barracking for the opposition.

Best reply I’ve ever had.

One hand has got shit in it the other hand has a dozen eggs.
