Geez handbag fans are arrogant, trying to justify the softest run home the competitions ever seen.

Not surprising though, Max Holmes the smug campaigner said after a round 11 win over the Dogs, ‘Well that’s finals locked in for us now’.
He knew how soft the draw home was as much as the rest of the footy world did, yet Cats fans argue against it with rubbish like Sydney were the form team of the competition when we played them
Astonishing really

They won’t have been tested like they will be tomorrow night, in months.
This will be our toughest game for the season and a 50/50 match. Hawthorn are arguably the form team of the comp and completely battle-hardened. Continue to be astonished though.

This is not coming from a Hawks fan surely?
Arrogance? The team that embraced Hollywood Hokball Sigma rubbish?

Meh, what I can say (as always) is the premier for the last 10 years or so always has the softest run home. "battle hardened" is a complete and utter myth.

Perhaps we can look for example at Hawthorn's last four H&A opponents in 2015: 10th, 9th, 17th, 18th

I'm not saying our draw wasn't soft, or that I didn't initially think it could be a problem. I just then checked and realised, "Holy sh!t, give me a soft prep every fricking year!"

Really looking forward to this! You feel that the winner of this one will be favourites to win the flag. I think it's a 55/45 game in Geelong's favour. Whatever happens, we've done well and improved on last season :)

I'd be confident going in against Collingwood should we get through who we match up well on, Brisbane is hit and miss but we were a good showing against them a few weeks back in Brisbane and the MCG will help us.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I’d hate to be a blind reporter or junior AFL staffer after this game if the cats lose. Can you imagine what Chris Scott will do to them

I see just as many Haw fans confident.

Says the guy whose signature says his club are winning the flag.

There might be some Hawks believing we've got it in the bag, but not as many as yours. It feels like 08 all over again...a large percentage of your fan base still hasn't gotten over that. Far sorer than we are about 2012.

Lol. That's a quote from Selwood re 22'.

Not sure why Haw fans are bringing this false bravado and looking for arguments.

It would be closer to:
25% of Cats fans expecting a 45+ point win
65% of Cats fans expecting a hard fought win
10% nervous/pessimistic tipping a loss

0% of Hawks fans expecting a 45+ point win
35% of Hawks fans tipping a hard fought win
65% nervous/pessimistic tipping a loss

Haha yeah I hope Eddie and Daisy Thomas pick us too

The fact they tried to play the underdog card is hilarious.

Hawthorn will NEVER be underdogs. You can't win in every decade and be like, "oooo just happy to be here, house money blah blah blah"

Delusional, in their own echo chamber.
Its a freaking Prelim, there is no hiding under the cover of excuses.

So any wanna talk tactics? So disappointed to come in here a find the endless bickering.

Dangerfield shapes as a genuine threat. Who goes to him, Weddle again? Or are Weddle and Dempsey likely to match up on each other on a wing?
Battle or Sicily I reckon. Depends which one they want for Cameron (probably Battle for Cameron).

You were very good against Brisbane, I'll give you that one but they had 3 teenagers, a crocked Neale and Sam Day out there!

Lachie Neale had 32 disposals in the QF and popped his calf in the last 10 minutes when the result was beyond doubt - hardly crocked.

Geelong will sit on Newcombe. Can Ward, Worpel, Nash and the rotating smalls do enough damage if he is curtailed.

Hawthorn will try to move the ball quickly forward while shifting angles which is the weakness of the Geelong defense. If they can do that then Watson, Moore and Ginnivan become really dangerous.

Geelong are as elite as it gets in terms of gut running. Are the niggles for Impey, Ginnivan and Gunston going to come back and bite them if they can't go with their Geelong opponents.

Has Geelongs easy run left them soft and open to an early knockout blow from the Hawks.

Battle resumes acquaintances with Cameron.
Barass gets Neale.
Hardwick gets Stengle
Scrimshaw might get Danger - leaves Sic to float.
Amon and Impey will share chasing Close and Miers around.

I assume Geelong will play a spare in defence and empty out their forward line as usual. Hawthorn maintaining a structure behind the ball will go a huge way to determining the outcome of this game.

Geelong fans are very, very confident. I fear a loss will probably break them…

Its going to be massive, nothing to lose for Hawthorn.... but everything to gain.

Geelong the highest rated team left
No injuries, have had a relaxing 10 weeks. A loss for them would be the most mammoth choke since their defeat in the 2020 grand final - when they had the game won.

I heard that Watson will give Bazza a wizards hat at the end of the game!
