2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th

is CJ really the sub thats redic. would love him at the saints
My Hawks supporting mates tell me the same thing, his skills and decision making just aren't there and the athleticism don't make up for it.

Maybe I'm thinking a few years back, but I thought he looked on track to be a special player, I'm not a great judge though.

He seems to be injured all the time.

i missed the first quarter and a half, but jezzra has kicked a few on him which you hate to see

Pretty much all of the Hawks capitulation was losing the midfield battle and after pressure dropped away they weren't able to play on their terms. They absolutely smashed Geelong early. Smith and Dangerfield really turned it around IMO.

North should be all over May, Port too, Essendon should.
Don’t agree at all on Essendon or North, they need guys for 10 years not 10 months and even if he’s a stop gap he’s not worth the risk culturally.

Port maybe, **** knows where they are at

May is so cooked it's not funny. Melbourne fan reckons he wasn't best 22 most of this year. Can't see anyone picking him up at 34 next year he's not going to have much appeal. Pretty much Collingwood would be the only type of club that might if Howe retires and they want one last crack.

We are prepared to trade Marshall, but only on our terms. All media and fan chat about what pick we might like, I’m told it’s a player that we’ll ask for. Very interesting.
If Mannagh was 2 years younger would be wrapped with him. Him and Hall would form a dangerous duo.
Be happy with Stengle.
SDK if they see Hammer moving back forward?
Jye Clark?
Can’t see too many others they’d be prepared to part with. Holmes would be the dream

Dogs as some desperate move while Libba is still going

Danger was amazing tonight with his ferocity at the contest and shows the value of managing your list during the year. He is never going to be as good (lacks explosive speed & touch), but Mitchito in the forward line should be the Saints wrecking ball equivalent… needs to keep smashing the gym over the next few years.

Hall shows promise as a creative high half forward like Mannagh & Miers, but Saints need a deeper dangerous small forward list. Martin & Stengle look capable of kicking a handful between them. This is where flying Ryan could be transformative if he shakes the excess kgs he is carrying over the preseason and forms a capable 1-2 punch with Higgo. He is still only a raw kid but if Collard could add some proper 6-8kg muscle to his frame over the summer his dynamism would be like Charlie Cameron. Personally though I’d be moving past Dan Butler

I was going to say Windy in the Danger mould. Has the midfield game, and cracks in with reckless abandon. That's the kind of standard setting approach a team needs with on field leadership.
