Whats the odds that now that after all the fall out from the last few races and that Lando has benefited greatly from McLaren meddling with the drivers, that McLaren now say they are going to be hands off and let the drivers race for the rest of the season (and in turn, not pay Oscar back what he is owed in the way of team orders etc)?

British Sky are still going with the BS that Lando allowed Oscar to pit early to cover off Charles and the swap afterwards was warranted. Not sure if they are being fed that rubbish from Mclaren but you suspect there isn't a hope in hades the "favour" is returned.

Kravitz just went with the same story in his interview with Charles at Baku. Charles shut it down saying that he was never a threat and Mclaren just went long in the hope of a safety car; and that made him appear more competitive than he was.

I think after this race, though given the events of Monza, I do wonder if Oscar has asked the question behind closed doors as McLaren were scoring the same points whether Oscar gave the position back or not.

Someone made a comment on Reddit that Oscar is playing politics to buy capital moving forward - pit strategies, who goes first, car development, etc.

Ted curates this goofball persona but he does have moments. Without seeing the interview myself, I think there's a chance, however slim, that question was included intentionally to get that response from Charles on record.

We'll see what papaya rules really mean if and when this is tested.

Yep. Lando and Charles were both protecting themselves in the hope of a safety car.

Horner officially leaves Red Bull today.

“I wish Laurent, Max, Yuki [Tsunoda] and all of the Red Bull Technology Group the very best for the future,” he said. “I am confident they will, as ever, deliver success on the track, for our fans, and continue to push to the maximum and I look forward to seeing the first Red Bull-Ford engine in the back of RB22 next year as well as the exciting RB17 [road car].

“I would like to thank our incredible sponsors and partners for their unwavering support who have played a key role in all our success. I would like to say a big thank you to the fans for their ongoing belief and without whom there would be no Formula 1.

“Racing aside, I would also like to thank the shareholders, the late Dietrich Mateschitz for the opportunity he gave me as a 31-year-old, Mark Mateschitz and Saravoot Yoovidhya and finally Chalerm and Daranee Yoovidhya for their friendship and commitment during my time at Red Bull as well as Oliver Mintzlaff and the Board for their guidance.”

I noticed there is one prominent RBR name not mentioned in his thank you note.....

It's also been reported that he walked away with a 60million Euro payout, as he still had 5 years to go on his 12m Euro a year contract (was contracted until 2030). He can also return to work in F1 at another team for the start of the 2026 season

Didn’t realise he was still there? What’s he been doing.

Max getting back into it all but assures oscar winning, if red bull really have turned the corner and max wins everything from here on in all mclaren have to do is ensure oscar finishes 2nd in the last 2-3 races to lock the championship in.
I am enjoying these possibilities for sure.

I don't really show it often but I am an RBR fan first and foremost - I just don't really get much satisfaction barracking for a team when they're dominating. RBR being the scuffy overachievers is what won be over between signing Danny Ric right up to the end of 2021.

Even a hint of upsetting the status quo of this McLaren WCC/WDC cakewalk gets my attention all over again.

HAM cancelled his appearance at the Pirelli tyre test today, because his poor dog Roscoe is in a coma :(

I want to keep you all updated. Roscoe caught pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe. He was admitted into hospital and sedated to calm him while they did checks on him and during the process his heart stopped. They managed to get a heartbeat back and now he’s in a coma. We don’t know whether he will wake from this. Tomorrow we’ll try to wake him up. I’m by his side and want to thank you all for your prayers and support.

There's dudes in this field that race the NLS all year, enter the N24 as well. 100s and 1000s of laps of experience in all conditions.

And Max is just tu tu du du.
