The amount of posters on here at this time of the year with good mail is about as prevalent as contracted players being linked to moves away from their clubs.

I think the majority of fans would be ho-hum if we went out and blew first round picks on Oliver. Trac, on the other hand, is a different story. But with Burgess gone, our chances of landing him are virtually gone.

Or that it needs a refresh?

Not this year. I think bringing in Ah Chee and hopefully Petracca gives us enough improvement to at least make a prelim next year if we get a decent injury run again. Failure to do that and I see a need to reset at the coaching level.

As I posted on the main trade board, I'd heard locally (Ballarat Rebels contacts) that there were several clubs sniffing around Sam including the Crows, West Coast and several Vic based clubs.

I can’t remember ever being linked to a name the size of Petracca when they aren’t an Adelaide native, so we are clearly being aggressive in this area.

We went after Jeremy Cameron, Dustin Martin, Errol Gulden... As it stands right now there's very little to suggest getting Petracca is any more likely than getting those guys.

We went after Jeremy Cameron, Dustin Martin, Errol Gulden... As it stands right now there's very little to suggest getting Petracca is any more likely than getting those guys.

We offered at least 1 of those guys a 10 year deal.
