2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

No way Marshall is worth SDK + pick 18 + future first (potentially pick 15-18).
You are asking them to pay equivalent of 3 first round picks (although late first round picks) for a 30 year old ruck who's not overly good at tap work but makes up for it with following up work and marking around the ground. This is not underselling Marshall, this is just the reality.
While most of us here understand and acknowledge Ro’s shortcomings as a tap ruckman, that shouldn’t diminish his worth when dealing with a club that can see what they’re getting and still desperately want him.

If his ruck failings were that significant they’d be chasing other options.

You like what you see Geelong; now pay up or shut up! 😬

Just cautioning that until the trade is done the dees are still a live chance for Flanders.

The want a player in return for Petracca, and while Humphrey is target number one, but Flanders is still very much still in their line of sight.

They will continue to work on him in the background.

A fair bit to play out here still, but we’re obviously in the box seat.

I cant remember one player who has nominated a club and ended up at another club

That’s a bargain.

So he rejected almost double to play at Essendon?
ive heard he was set on us for a while, king threw abit of a spanner in the works but there was no chance of Essendon getting him they made two desperate efforts to get him throwing huge coin at him I think the first offer was 1 mil a year over 5 years then the last ditch effort was 1.3 over 7

I did indeed... 4am my time, but good to hear. Im a big fan of Banger, hes an old family friend (through his Dad and mine) and still my fav Saints player.
Banger is a true saint. Blessing to watch him play.

Hill won the Robert Harvery award for the best club-man so he is very highly regarded internally. It's a decent effort to beat out Wood.
