I think thats spin. He'll go in the 30s. Would hope we wouldn't match but if we have picks we cant trade up or to next year we might as well. Wouldn't burn the top 25 picks. Is Williams even worth matching if a bid comes as early as it's been reported?
Take out his combine performance and he's back to being a late ND selection. Seems a fair price for someone not actually rated that highly.
We're just paying combine tax.
Zero chance of that happening after they took 4 talls last year.I'm hearing (I'm not) that Richmond love CDT. I wonder if we floated 2 for 3&4 if they might flinch.
Really its Essendon or nobody i think unless someone gives a future 1st. Which I wouldn't mind off Richmond or Essendon but otherwise we're too far back.
Tyler was one of WA's best in the Metro game. He was looking like a late R2 prospect in that game.Is Williams even worth matching if a bid comes as early as it's been reported?

Yea look my sarcasm evidently didn't come through. Aside from what they are targeting its a ridiculous suggestion. If they rate CDT significantly above the next best aim could see a world where they get ahead with a pick swap for a future second. Also possible they see him as a mid not a KPP.Zero chance of that happening after they took 4 talls last year.
They need mids.
Too many people have made this comment seriously for me to not note is as sarcasm, sorry.Yea look my sarcasm evidently didn't come through.
I could see Norf trading next years 1st rounder for Zane... They have historySo judging from Cal, he does not think we will trade pick 1 so Willem come on down.
I doubt whether Norf trade out Zane without a massive premium so Dons vision of the trio sounds unlikely.
Will Dons trade up for 2? A lot easier deal to get done
Get it in writing, you can't trust The Injectors they want to shoot up up the draft .If we’re open to trading down, we should have pretty good relations with the 2 key clubs, Richmond and Essendon, via Clarke’s contacts at Richmond and Eagles alumni at Essendon (Rosa, O’Brien and Vozzo). That might help because we’d need to be confident of which players they’re trading up for.
2 13 for 5 6Surely we won't get as much for pick 2 compared to pick 1. 3 years ago we only got 8 & 12.
Lol. 2 is not getting 3 and 4…I'm hearing (I'm not) that Richmond love CDT. I wonder if we floated 2 for 3&4 if they might flinch.

I swear, who ever get Dalton at 36 will be very lucky.Last ranking of the season here.
1. Find the ranking on the far left, change since the last one (mid CTL and WAFL Colts finals campaigns).
2. Name of the talent coloured with the tier key on the far right, followed by the previous tier ranking for the player.
There will be discrepencies in this due to adding tiers since the last time, so if ranking changes and tier changes look odd when examined together then that is why!
3. Bust or Boom ratings as a gradient of Red to White. Read this as my confidence that a player underperforms / overperforms their tier.
For example, Cooper Duff-Tytler is ranked as pretty confident that he is only very good rather than elite, and a little be confident that he may be a future A Grader. Compared to Dan Annable above him, who I'm fairly certain will be an A Grader, and a little bit of me feels that he may be a future superstar.
2 dark reds next to each other can be read as low floor and high ceiling, light and dark can be read as high floor high ceiling, and dark and light can be read as low floor low ceiling. All relative to their tier. A dark red bust does not mean CDT will be a nobody, just that he might only be very good rather than elite.
Anyways, enjoy! If any mod wants this posted elsewhere just let me know and I'll do it when I wake up, or just move the post

I'm not saying you're wrong, and he's obviously had an amazing combine - but the knocks on his game are speed and kicking skills.I swear, who ever get Dalton at 36 will be very lucky.
This is going to be one of the most fascinating re-drafts in 5 yrs.
Great work as always.

He won the best and fearest for Sandringham in half a season.I'm not saying you're wrong, and he's obviously had an amazing combine - but the knocks on his game are speed and kicking skills.
Do you really want a guy like Dalton getting 30 touches if he's a bit of a butcher?
To me he will end up being a WHE/Sharp/Chesser-type - an elite runner who plays fat side and does 12km+ every game without having a game breaking impact
Don't need to match points after pick 36 so deficit is pretty unlikely. After the discount the pick will fall in the 30s if not the 40s.
Points there are not huge and worse case we go into deficit and our future 3rd or 4th gets diluted. Worst case.
Hence why we traded in pick 33 and 52.
No need for a new diaper with this one peeps.

This is not how it works. People often say, "yeah, let's split 2. We'll swap 2+13 for 5+6, because 5+6 is better".2 13 for 5 6
We don't need the guy at 2, there's a blanket from 3-10, one of the guys we want will likely slide past 2 into the blanket but no guarantee the other of the 2 we are targeting makes it to 13.This is not how it works. People often say, "yeah, let's split 2. We'll swap 2+13 for 5+6, because 5+6 is better".
This is what happens in reality:
The Eagles have a ranking. They also have tiers. They also have some intel on who everyone else is going to take. If the guy they want is going to still be there at 5, they'll split. If the guy they want is not going to be there, they'll hold and take him.
Holding the top pick is always the better option until you can split and still get your man. The concept of "let's just split before we know what everyone's hand is, is for r-words.
Curtin not in that top 40. Would be a good get late in the draft. Has some afl traits.![]()
