So we've had Jake Niall (Pie Supporter), Xander McGuire (the nepotistic son of Ed), Jay Clark (Pie Sychophant) Ralph (Tugger and big club fan), Cleary (known worm) and Peter Ryan all comment on the Jy situation, including that North should shut up and take a paltry pick.

One might think a degree of coordination of trade by media is going on.

Dursma and Jy will end up at Ess is my prediction.
They're just trying to figure out whats happening with merrett before going all in.
Reckon we'll hear about it tues/ early wed and then done by 7pm Wednesday.

The danger with Duursma is if he will just leave next year and what is the risk Essendon may plummet to spoon-grade-bad next year. I wouldn't put it past him to just go into the PSD and we get zip for him. That would be a bad outcome.

We still have a few players without contracts... and we do not have to go to the draft if we get rid of our picks.
You have to take a minimum of three players at the draft - though these can include rookie upgrades. I expect we'll just take two and upgrade Pink. I'm assuming none of those uncontracted players will be re-signed - we have at most one main list and one rookie spot for them or Aleer or others.

I thought you have to take 3 players if you participate in the draft, there isn't a requirement that you have to participate. There is no rule you have to delist anyone to make room for additional players as far as I am aware. Unless something changed recently.

Do you ever say anything positive?

You have to participate, and it has been a minimum three selections for quite a while.

Yeah of course.
Just sick of 6 years of shit and being the laughing stock of the league.
Yeah we all feel it as well but if we all whined about all the time - I don’t think many ppl would come on here.
Also it doesn’t change what happens on the field

Was just giving my opinion on what I think would be happening next week.
Doubt thd club will want dursma to walk for nothing, so better to trade him this year for Max value if he's set on going.

Hey Shinboner1, I understand your logic but Zane is absolutely going nowhere, he has not even put in a trade request, he will be wearing our colours next year and being a lot fitter we will get glimpses of what he is capable of even if he isn't the finished product. Stop worrying about what might or mighten happen with him, between now and pre-season his fitness & confidence I feel is going to be a marked improvement and it will show up early in the new year, good things are on the way!

If he's out of contact next year, his only self-drive option is to go into the national or pre season draft. Your theory is right that the trade usually happens because we would want value for him, but the nuclear option is walk him to the draft the let it be roulette where he goes. Would like to see at least one club do this to set a tone.

I'm all for keeping him. He's only one good pre season away from enjoying playing footy. All the public commentary is he needs a tank and doesn't have it. Grass is always greener though and all that...

Players can put themselves directly into the PSD. Jack Martin in 2019 a good example.

Pies 2027 f1 in a Jy trade would still be very handy. Remember Tas have to trade picks 5, 7, 11 and 13, so something nice could be packaged up using that pies pick to trade up for a Tas pick

Cam mooney on sen this morning reckons Simpkin can’t get into Pies midfield unless he waits for a couple of retirements.

They have Ned “**** who” Long playing in their midfield. 25 games, 60% CBA’s and averaging 17 possessions in 2025. And he’s a worse kick than even Jy.

I like Cam he’s normally a straight talker, but it just goes to show you the bias that exits in the media.
