Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Charlie didn't get pushed... not did he take a massive fall...
That isn't the point. If I pushed you enough to lose balance and fall, it's not going to be any different than tripping over because in both instances, you're losing your balance and you're falling. Not exactly rocket science here matey.
The reports were that he slipped, causing a contraction to his quad leading to the patella fracture...

And that is the highly unlikely reason I'm talking about...
Why is it unlikely?

Based on your totally unbiased opinion of Charlie's character, I gather?
I said the chances are clowning around or drunk... not a lie, probability based on his past...

Yeah, I'd be devastated with that :D
It is a lie if you're accusing him of something with zero evidence.

You'd shut up about him, that'd be a good thing.

I did, apparently stuff that Charlie himself said... and it's all been scrubbed... lmao no wonder why ...
Apparently?

Do you have a quote?

Do you have his medical records?

Do you have any rehab/recovery reports?

Or is this another "look how bad Charlie is" with a sprinkling of BS?

Gerald Healy came up with an interesting point on fox footy. He said it’s becoming a ground ball game referring to small/medium forwards kicking more goals uses the grand final as an example.

Found that insightful.
And yet last night he was banging on about saints should keep both tdk and Marshall so that one can be the chop out for king…....go figure

Please do not give up pick 22 blues , please!
Do they think the Blues are like Gold Coast doing a salary dump?

“Yeah ok we‘ll take him, but you have to throw in a first round pick as well”

Good one.

The club takes no responsibility for JSOS, TDK, Doc and Charlie all wanting to leave.
And why should they?

Thats two players offered around double their value, a much loved guy who has had 3 knee recos and 2 cancer battles, now the wrong side of 30 retiring and a guy that wants a lifestyle change.

Keep in mind that only one of them are 23 game a year players. JSOS plays 10, Charlie could do a knee anytime and has lost the best part of three years, Doc was on half a leg.

We have the biggest drop off in our bottom 6 of any club
Easy big fella, st Kilda saw a crack and took it. Why was there a crack there? Maybe by trading or delisting players like Matty Kennedy, Cunningham and Williamson who were all in on our rebuild and growing together. Look at Geelong, They sign and keep people, there is no way players like Jed Bews and Zac Guthrie would ever last on our list
Are you reading what you type? Cunningham and Williamson??? You do understand that Cunningham could never get on the park and that Williamson was charged with a very serious crime?

If we do end up trading Charlie and play with McKay as our one genuine key position forward with a fleet of third tall types (Hayward, Kemp, Moir) who do we get chop out ruck minutes from? Will we play two rucks with the sub rule going? Will we just get some ruck minutes in to Harry (risky) and go super small forward? Super intrigued how that plays out next year.

Ok, one final shot at the stumps from the department of unlikely deals…

C4 mentioned Rachele earlier today - his name hasn’t been linked to us this year, but I reckon he’d be a great fit for us - we’d never spell his name right.

So we haggle with Sydney and give them 22, but get their pick 32 back. Let’s them still match Max King from their academy.

Then we help Adelaide get Ah Chee.

Carlton out: 10, 11.
In: Rachelle, 17, 44.

Adelaide out: Rachel, 16, 48.
In: 10, 23, Ah Chee.

Brisbane out: Ah Chee, 17, 23, 44.
Brisbane in: 11, 16, 48.

This values Ah Chee at pick 25, and helps Brisbane match a top 5 bid on Annable. It values Rachelie at pick 15 plus Ah Chee (together valued around pick 7), and it improves their draft hand substantially. Leaves us with 17, 32, 44 - let’s us match a bid for Dean in the top 7. I’m tipping he goes later though and we have enough points for Dean and Ison, but only just.

So we lose Charlie, TDK, JSOS and Durdin plus our draft hand substantially+F2 for:

Rachele, Hayward, Florent, Ainsworth, Chesser, Reidy, Dean, Ison and an F1.

Pretty much an entirely new forward line, plus some better weapons to deliver the ball inside, and some point to help with Cody next year.

Highly unlikely Adelaide do that deal, and Charlie dragging out to the last day doesn’t leave us time to do any work on it. Thank goodness this will all be over by tomorrow night.

We have really added to our flanks and wings the last few seasons. I rate our young backmen (Carroll, Wilson, Charleson, Cowan, Hollands) and then we add Chesser, Ainsworth and potentially Hayward and Florent. They are areas of need. Oh and Smith is going to play mostly wing/flank IMO and he is genuine quality.

What will our needs be end of 2026? Could be a key forward or O'Keeffe could stand up for us. Could be a dynamic, quick and dangerous onballer. Walker and Smith could be contributing here however I would rather see them win their first premiership playing mostly on the flanks and wings.

I honestly think Carlton are going to be the team that surprises everyone in 2026. If we don't get smashed to bits with injury again there's really no excuse for us.

Florent gives guys like Wilson and Charleson time to develop. He also allows Saad more freedom. The thing that has killed Saad is that he was our only threatening half back last year so he was either tagged as a half back or because Newman was out, he was stuck in the back pocket, where he struggles, playing that role.

The direction our recruitment has taken since Davies and Wright have arrived is a breath of fresh air. They know what we need where before our recruiting lacked direction.

I am sure we aren't done. I think there is another need that is about to be ticked off.
quite happy if Florent comes but not for pick 22.

If the Curnow trade goes through, we need to seriously consider our drafting strategy.

Our KPF stocks are very low and will be a disaster if Harry gets some more concussions and is forced to retire.

Dean and Ison aren't key forwards. And what will be our 3rd pick this year? We aren't getting a Coleman at that pick.

Are there any good key forwards in next year's draft? Do we forego Cody and take 2 x 1st round picks instead?

I still hope we're looking to on-trade something to GC for Walter. They're getting JUH which means Walter is in the VFL all year. They're giving up waaaay too much for Petracca and they still need points.

It's a very slim chance but at least they haven't categorically ruled it out like they did with Humphrey.
