Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

What are you on about? Why do I need to find a quote? I asked that poster and that's what he said, got an issue take it up with him.

The only sprinkling of BS is "Charlie was mismanaged by the club" making excuses for the sook...

I suspect you'll be purchasing your Sydney membership next year... might want to move houses there too 👍
You're saying Charlie said something and clearly using that to put him in a bad light.

And yes, he was mismanaged by the club... as I already told you, the proof was in the Hawthorn game last year. He was clearly hindered, and he missed the rest of the year because of that. We have a history of rushing back injured players, and you're telling me with a straight face that he wasn't mismanaged?

Dig up.

Getting ready for tomorrow...

We totally fleeced Sydney. Curnow is injury prone, way past his prime and is a culture killer. Hayward are Florent alone are better than Curnow alone, plus we got two first rounders, making it a 4-for-1. Build the Austin statue now.

We made the right move to reject those dud offers from both Geelong and Sydney. Curnow is a superstar, he's signed long-term and we can't be giving that kind of talent up for picks in the teens and two fringe duds. Another Graham Wright masterstroke.

If it’s the two Sydney guys + 2 1sts for Curnow and 22. I think I’d rather the Cats offer…
Yeah, it does kind of even it up a little.

Reckon if Geelong found a player around the Hayward level to throw in with their three 1st rounders, it may get us a little aroused. Not a woody, but maybe half a chub.

Problem for either club is that if any player of any note know that Charlie's arriving, they won't want to leave.

You're saying Charlie said something and clearly using that to put him in a bad light.

No, someone else said Charlie said something... that's why I used the word "apparently" ...

At least follow the trail of the topic properly before interjecting with false claims...

He declared himself fit for the ef... club still didn't play him to not risk his health...

You're whinging over one game where he no doubt would have had a say in playing as well... let's not pretend he didn't and absolve him of all wrongdoing here... maybe the club wanted to trust him because he said he's right... and that's why they didn't come ef... prove that wrong...

Dig up.

Got us O’Farrell. And with Cripps Hewett Lord we had too many inside mids
Win for me
Agree, I just wish our kids could just get a good run at it. The early years are crucial to build confidence mentally and physically, I’m so sick of seeing our young talents get long term injuries

Gettable well worth a listen today. Quite a bit on the proposed Charlie deal (they agree with most of us, no way can 22 be involved), but also a few tidbits about the draft, including
  • Dean definitely gets bid on before 10
  • there’s no market for trading 26 1sts into this year
  • Also unlikely that anyone trades out of the top 10 this year, aside from Suns for Petracca
  • they seemed to think we would just hold 10+11 and match the Dean bid, and 11 would just slide back to 17 odd

We could have gotten a pick in the 40s some other way than trading MK who was 6th in the dogs B&F.

That was an epically one sided trade.

The dogs now want overs back from us for Buku is ordinary. He's certainly worth less than MK was.

I like that tbh.

Match Dean at 10. Dovaston at 17. Match Ison later. Job done.

It is the point! And not any different? Hahaha ok matey... comparing a push vs a slip and pretending they're the same thing with the same impact... apparently it is rocket science for you... matey...
If you trip over yourself and fall, you will injure yourself. If I push you hard enough to put you off-balance, you will fall and injure yourself. It's not any different as far as your body is concerned. I clearly used an example of a push where it's just enough to make you off-balance... I am not talking about someone throwing you down stairs with the might of Hulk.
Because it's a lot more common from direct knee impact not a muscle contraction...
What do you think happens to someone's knee when they impact hardwood, steel or concrete?
You're accusing him of being a professional... with zero evidence...
Did not even mention the word once.
Would I? Well... onus is on Charlie to shut me up then...

Question is, will you shut up if he stays and stinks it up again? I suspect not... we'll hear more bs about the club mismanaging him... with zero evidence of that too I might add... it's funny how you always seem to cry out for proof and evidence to back my claims but can never provide any of your own and when asked for it, you go on some spiel about not needing to "because it's obvious" hahahahaha
If he stinks it up, I will happily criticise him.

What I won't do, is make up stuff about him personally and use it as a vehicle to insult him.

I already gave you an example of mismanagement, if you want to ignore that, then that's on you. I don't need evidence when I claim you can injure your knee falling down the stairs, but when I start telling people that player X did Y because they were drunk, that's far more substantial than arguing about basic physics.

  • 11 won't slide back to 17, most likely 14 highly unlikely Ess bid on Dean... they need mids big time, and are well stocked for supplemental key backs
  • Dean "definitely" gets bid on before 10? I doubt that, it's only likely if Melbourne get 7 + 8 but still not definite imo, they're losing Trac + Oliver they'd want mids and maybe key forward since May is likely to stay now too...

How exactly? Who were we going to trade?

There was no other option. We were stuck. We needed the pick and the spot

I like Kennedy but IMO we did very well out of it. HOF will be a 12 year CHB/CHF and we have enough inside mids

I can’t even put into words how much of a joke it would be if we did that last bit, might as well keep Charlie if that’s our plan

We told Kennedy to look around. Which was a mistake.
He was alright for the Bulldogs; his kicking was still rubbish. he had his worst kicking efficiency in 4 years. averaged most clangers in his career. Hewett wouldn't be the best and fairest if he stayed. 21 goals, only 5 more than last year. only 4 in his last 10 games.

On face value I wouldn’t say we did well if we’re calling it Kennedy for pick 38, but Kennedy for HOF could end up being one of the best moves we’ve made in a while

Curnow isn't really injury-prone. Played 20+ games in 3 of the past 4 seasons. The other season was 18 games.

HOK would play Forward/Ruck I assume. I'm hoping Harry's days in the ruck are done (he does well, just dont want to risk him)

One of HOK and Reidy will be resting in the forward line. There were a lot of nice long kicks for goal in Reidy's highlights. Pitto is next door to useless in the forward line.

But they know we’ll match, so they’ll still get the mids anyway. It’s about getting your rivals to pay a fair price
