I think the whole 'culture wars' crap is largely irrelevant here in Oz, the number of young blokes that will go in for far right nuttery isn't much different to what it's always been.Yeh I can agree with that strategically but I do think it's a moral failure of the modern centre-left to continually try and take the 'moral highground', all the while extreme fringe voices on the right continue to attract impressionable disenfranchised young men.
Labor should be looking to capitalise on the weakness of the LNP and go for a more aggressive media campaign in the future.
Also a large percentage of them aren’t educated enough to know in Australia a 'Liberal' is a conservative in a mask and think of Bernie Sanders and AOC when they hear the word liberal.
I'm always for better marketing however the whole Sun Tzu 'Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake' thing is soooooo relevant right now.
Incorrect.Right now Albo has all the power required to make meaningful change so that workers can afford to live near where they work, he could end the horrifically cruel poverty of unemployment, he could do something about the free-range mental illness cluster*. He could do any number of things to greatly improve the nation and instead he'll do incrementally * all and continue the bullshit. But at least he's pretend to care.![]()
For starters he doesn't control both houses.
And more importantly housing is a ****ing minefield courtesy of Howard.
On unemployment I'm hoping they gut the employment agency rorts and bring back some form of the Commonwealth Employment Service
Mental illness equals ongoing and strong Medicare, there is no silver bullet.
