I agree with you, if Ollie Greeves is there at our second pick I think we'd snap him up. He has been talked down to the point where we are taking a project player ahead of him... no way. 35 disposals, 14 marks and 4 goals in the prelim. We can work with the potential defensive deficiencies.
You have to consider that if we take (for example) a mid like Grlj for our first, would we also take another mid with our second? I'm thinking probably not and this is where someone like Hetherton starts making sense.

Twomey will have a lot to answer for if the 'Steak' doesn't fall to us. Really pumped if this kid fall through. Back a couple months ago, I listed him in my top 5-6 consistently and for a good reason.
One of Grjl , Doveston Farrow likely to fall to our pick and I'm taking the sizzler ( that's three different names I've called him) everyday of the week. Not scared to go full throttle, give get one-two , shrug off tacklers and rocket away with the pill. Really not that fussed about who we get with our next pick tbh, obviously I have my preferences but if we land the BBQ, then I'm doin cartwheels.

Is Greeves any slower than Patrick Cripps?
There were reports that Greeves impressed clubs with his private time trial run, so he's got the tank to play mid, wins the ball, can take a mark up forward etc

I know there's a huge gap in class bw Cripps and Greeves as u18 players.
Just asking the question bc Cripps has always looked slow to me.

I get excited by players like Grlj and Robey.
Others in this draft who will make very good players, but those two are exactly what we need.

Hoping we get a shot at taking one.

Hetherton does make sense, but not in the first round.

As for Grlj and Greeves, I think they make total sense and they are both "midfielders" who have the scope to player another position. In Grlj's case, he might end up forging a career off half-back. Greeves I would take purely on talent, but I truly don't expect him to be available at our second pick. Same goes for Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves. Tall, tough goal-kicking mids, the likes we just don't have on our list at all.

Had me with Grlj, lost me on Hetherton.

What a joke. Look at the players available at that pick. Hethertons ranked in the 40s at best.

Cal needs to swap the Gettable makeup for some face paint. An afro would fit well at this point, may as well draft that one. Oh and a red nose.

Absolute 🤡

Imagine if Twomeys draft plays out and we get Grlj and of course Barker at 27 and philippou and Greeves are still on the board at pick 31. Gws have that pick and take philippou then dees would you trade them 56 and f2 to get Ollie Greeves?
Given all of the below picks will vanish in bid matches

21,25,27,30(Blues)
24,28,29,36(Suns)
31,32 (Swans)

Any one of them should be available for F2 or F3 or combinations of it.

I would not take Hetherton even as a rookie.

Raw athleticism, little football ability.
Terrible hands, bad decision making...
He has a red hot go though, and is tall.

Gotta love the fact that he has no Nickname 😂. Just Grjl!
His name is pronounced “grill” so by extension he gets “griller” or “sizzle”.

Would be happy if Grlj fell through to us ….. I really like the way he continuously/consistently zips around trying to stay involved always creating an option to transition the ball out of congestion. He’s quick with clean touch
Grilj just puts speed on the ball at every opportunity and takes the ball from inside to outside immediately either with his pace, or his vision and hands.
I don’t know how he’s going to get through to us, but the bomber twerp seems to think he will.

He is the perfect player for what we need.

I’m tipping it’ll get Wiz>Curtin nasty on here come draft night.

Farrow, Taylor, Lindsay or Greeves might be in our colours come Thursday, so be ready to cheer!

Young Padiwan, you have much to learn… nothing will outdo the absolute melts when we took that string-bean trouble maker from WA instead of NT’s best ever talent…

“**** you, buckenara!!” were the famous words.

The thing is that the Tigers get all the grief for grabbing Tambling. Reality is that Bulldogs also had the chance, and might have threepeated with Buddy in their team.

Can't believe Twomey has us taking Grlj. Seems too good to be true!

Would be a lovely early Christmas present if we walked away from night 1 with Grlj and Greeves.

Twomey has good links with Essendon and his draft suggests Grlj isn't on their radar.

Richmond are big fans but Robey's sudden ascension put a spanner in the works.

It means that Melbourne are the most realistic chance of sniping him, but they are being very closely liked to Farrow, Nairn and Dovaston.

Feels like a real chance he gets through unless the Dees throw a curveball.

So Cletus has us landing Sizzle at Pick 14, let’s hope he is bang on.

Heatherton looks like the sort of player we go for.

We do love a project player with stress fractures.

We must be getting some good practice dealing with them.

I think you'll find Roughead was the only player we took before Tambling was taken.

However your sentiment is correct given Bucky/Clarkos master plan.

There really isn’t. Cripps wasn’t getting 35 touches and 4 goals in under 18s. I want Greeves at our second pick. He’d be a Tom green clone
