Who do Richmond have that’s done anything of note at AFL level?
They don't. Wardlaw shits all over Hammies. Shits and then some more.

Wardlaw is good though. Hard, Fast, skillful enough. Will be great coming from the bench. Whereas at Richmond, he'd be Captain and best player already.

Correct. Bit of work to do for the Tigs.

Very cute.

You'll always be "Save Our Skins" - Tigers to me.

I remember feeling sorry for you and putting some pocket money in one of your tins as a 10 year old.

How could Richmond, the only team we were guaranteed to beat, not be in the league.

I was in tears. The year before (I think) you kicked the first goal - we kicked the next 13 in Q1. Derek Kickett kicked a torp from about 70m. It was glorious.
Thanks for your amazing contribution 😍 I really hope that your club can continue to survive by leaching off the rest of the comp :thumbsu:

I feel for you. Your club has been rebuilding for 20 years, whilst Richmond has overtaken you in just over 12 months. Your envy and anger at Richmond is totally understandable.

Again, that’s a bigger indictment on Wardlaw, they jumped from 9th to 3rd the year he played less.

If by as much, you mean 21% less and by 25% less game time you mean 19% less TOG you’d be right.

That’s despite Reid being a year younger.
LDU, Sheezel, McKercher, Wardlaw, FOS, Parker.

Wardlaw would be our 4th mid, clearly he'd be your first. That's the difference.

I like the Tiges.. in all honesty I've donned the Jungle-themed onesie since the final in '95 against the Dons. I have been secret fan since then.

But I don't love Footy (anymore), it's a bit down my list behind; golf, cricket, skiing definitely. Clearly.

The new rules are stupid, we're treated like all-ability children.

Honestly, if Australia wasn't so boring and shit, I doubt I would bother, it's more muscle memory than we care to believe.

The fact the likes of Wardlaw and Ginbey are being thrown up as reasons north and west coast are going to be good in the future shows just how far off they both are.

I actually think north will win a few more games this year (7-8) and get out of the bottom 4 but their ceiling is low with the battlers that they have and headed for a st kilda like stay in no man’s land.

West coast are putrid and will again challenge the bombers for the spoon.

Tiges probably win 8 -10 games with a decent run at injuries and finals beckon in 27
Where are these 8-10 wins coming from?
Double up games against West Coast, North, Melbourne and Stkilda. Hard to see you winning all of them, who else are you going to beat?

I'm sure he meant the next 2-3 years. They could start now and would still struggle to get 8 wins.

Lets just remember how easily we beat the Tigers with many of our starting 18 unavailable. If your winning 8-10 I am excited to see what we can do.

Mckercher averages 1.3 clearances a game.

Reid is the 2nd best centre square mid in that list. Hewett is a better centre square mid than Wardlaw/Mckercher based on this year.
Nobody is taking the eagles midfield over ours coming into next season. As a whole our profile is tracking top 5-6 midfields

lol you think Reid is better than McKercher.

Hilarious. Say no more. You're beyond help.

Reid is a real good player. Would have been exceptional 25 years ago. McKercher is genuinely colossal the way the game is played these days.

Which is completely irrelevant to the discussion and not what I was saying.

I’m in disbelief anyone can be this stupid, there’s not a non North supporting AFL follower that isn’t take Reid before Mckercher.

Norf should have had both.
As well as JHF.
That would have been some powerhouse midfield.

Talk about an epic fumble.

Yeah, what does that prove...?yeah I know that already.

I couldn't care less what other morons think, they tend to be clueless and use their hands for work, rather than their heads. It's genuinely irrelevant.

I never wanted JHF, he's a perfect front-running Paua fraud.

The epic failure was not trading rights for him to Adel before the draft, actually.

That we came away with McKercher and Wardlaw for Fabian-Rancid is decent work from us. We've done that a few times where our ****ups haven't been punished by other teams.

Even trading pick 4 (7) 2025 for 27 (2024) last year, we recovered well (really).

Yeah we could have got more for pick 1 2021 if we played it better, but this latest "disaster" we still ended up with MWhitlock, Dovaston and Thredgeldt for 27, (7) & ~40 (next year).

We did miss out on "George Foreman" though (or Shaun Atley reincarnated)... I don't think I could have coped with a re-run tbh.

I know this is a thread where people can indulge in some hyperbole, but do you really believe this?

McKercher of 4 contested possessions a game, 1.4 clearances, 4.4 score involvements, 0.5 goals a game.

Can you name one good midfielder that has comparative stats?

McKercher may come good and impact on games, but at the moment he's a second year kid having minimal impact.

I agree with you but challenge you on the fact the game has changed, it's not the old days where those stats are pertinent. The game now is built for those with pace, running ability and finishing skills.

We have LDU, Wardlaw, Sheezel, FOS doing what Reid apparently is good at, we don't need another.

Reid wouldn't even make our starting (first choice) Midfield. Wardlaw basically won't (moving forward) and to be honest there's really not much in it. I'd take Wardlaw because he's quicker and a better kick, but that's nothing against Reid, he's a great young player trying to lift a fallen champion - it's not easy, I'm sure.

It’s a troll, Wardlaw being a better kick than Reid the telltale sign (as well as score involvements no longer being important). Wardlaws lucky Tsatas is in the same draft or he’d be comfortably the worst kick from it.

The Wardlaw being quick thing just confuses me. I'll be honest i don't watch many North games because watching the eagles each week is bad enough, but i have never thought Wardlaw was quick. In fact i think he's going to face issues moving forward given how slow he is.

Maybe i just missed the games where he blew people away with speed.

Mckercher may come good?

He got 26 coaches votes in his second year

He played half back. Not midfield

We are talking about midfielders. I know he can play loose off half back.

Expect he'll move into the midfield and be a good one, but to pretend he's better that

"McKercher is genuinely colossal the way the game is played these days."
is laughable.

2025 average goal assists per game

Harley Reid 0.3 (18th at west coast)

George Wardlaw 0.8 (2nd at North)

Thats almost triple

All good. Kerch hasn’t proven anything as a mid yet. He hasn’t played there.

As a half back he often gets tagged

"Only", I believe it.

I would ask for a 2027R1 alongside Reid in exchange for McKercher if it were on the table.

I get that you have Reid and not much else, so that makes him more important. But he'd be a medium forward for us, I can't imagine he'd get any CBA. Like none.

Again, not meant to be offensive to the Big Birds but if a neutral didn't have that opinion, I'd put it down to watching football, just not seeing it.

Your own club thinks Caleb Daniel and Jy Simpkin are better than McKercher.

Mate, his username is 'Chip Scab1', of course he thinks McKercher's the beez kneez.
