Our girls have gone through two seasons without a loss and created a legacy that will, more than likely, never be equaled, we have been fortunate to watch something very special with our AFLW program, and I have enjoyed every minute.

It is why I have been pissing and moaning about the direction the men's team has gone, yes, we have talent, but if you do not play a premiership brand of football and you do not drill the whole side to tackle and put on relentless pressure, you are just going nowhere.

special performance, especially with how hard Brisbane came in the first half. They were dominating us with inside 50’s but our defence was impenetrable. Some real unsung hero’s back there with Ferguson rarely beaten one on one.

Sheerin, Riddell, Garner and Bruton all had very special games.

Kearney also special game especially in Q1 when we were under genuine pressure. Just takes the right option and leads from the front. Special player.

Absolute agreement. Hard two way run, physical toughness and pressure all across the ground is the minimum expectation for any team no matter how talented. Brisbane’s boys and our girls bring it and are back-to-back as a result of blending talent with presence and effort.

Our men’s talent level may not be quite at the required level yet but there is no excuse for their work rate, physicality and discipline not being where they should be. If they bring it next season we will finally take the big step forward we need as there is enough talent to compete with most teams, most days.

As it stands our girls are setting the standard. Long may they reign!
