After 12 people have deliberated and came All to the same conclusion. I am very surprised he would make that statement to the media. Play a straight bat and if you think he is innocent let it play out without further comment. Jury trails very difficult to appeal.

I don’t think the parents can be judged -

- They’ve had Tom bullshiting them for months about his ‘innocence’ so they’ve acted in his best interests

- They’ve seen their son revealed as a rapist and a liar in Court - A crushing experience

- Now they have the sentencing to ‘look forward’ to, probable incarceration of their son and all that entails.

Loss of reputation, loss of respect, doubts about their parenting, Jo in particular will probably lose all employment prospects.

They have every right to look crushed - they’ve discovered their son is Class A turd.

Yeah nah if my son was convicted of rape I wouldn’t come out publicly and proclaim his innocence. Let it play out further in the courts if you want without comment. The human element you reference in this is the victim, but not sure that’s your view

His mate pretty much told Tom to GAGF when Tom asked him to lie and say his uber was cancelled and that he came back to the house.

The only hope for him is if the judge made a mistake with his jury directions like the recent Greg Lynn trial.

So MAP is where they profile prisoners to determine needs, appropriate containment and socialisation difficulties.

I believe he’ll end up in a low or med security facility - he’s a grub, not a hardened criminal or a psychopath(I hope)

Lotta SOS pearl clutching going on in here, chat about the "human element" and the fact that he's just "defending his son". Here are the facts, though.

- His son has been convicted of rape, found guilty by a jury of his peers after sufficient evidence proved beyond reasonable doubt that he is indeed guilty.

- In making a public statement proclaiming his son's innocence, he is effectively calling the victim a liar and in doing so causing further harm to the victim and her family at a time when they should be getting closure on the whole ****ed up scenario.

Now here are my opinions.

- If SOS was doing what a good parent should do, he wouldn't be enabling and absolving his son's disgusting behaviour by publicly proclaiming his innocence. What a good father would be doing, is turning his attention inward towards his son and dealing with Tom's behaviours and attitudes towards women

- The Silvagni family clearly believe their status absolves them from any wrongdoing and they can make this whole fiasco disappear by simply denying it.

The "human element" card is absolute rubbish, I'm sorry. Yes that element is certainly involved, however the result of it has been SOS turning his attention on the victim and enabling the perpetrator...and that is just wrong and frankly, awful parenting.

I'm not surprised he was gaslighting her since it happened.

Isn't it illegal for calls to be recorded without the knowledge/consent of the party being recorded?

If it is illegal, then it could not have been admissible as evidence, and could be grounds for the Silvangi's to sue.
