Port has named Jason Horne-Francis despite his interrupted pre-season, while veteran Ollie Wines (who will miss the first two rounds of the season due to suspension) is absent along with Jordon Sweet, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Esava Ratugolea, while none of the Power's train-on players have been named.

What's up with SWeet, BZT and Esava? Port website didn't even mention them. Managed?

It appears that Ramm and Marshall have jumped him. Rip to the 2023 off season. Soldo injured and all of Sweet, Zerk and Ratugolea playing in the twos
Yeah but at least we only gave up a first rounder, two second rounders, a third rounder and Xavier Duursma to get those guys.

Interesting that Logan Evans got picked, looked way off it at SANFL level during the back end of last season.

Liddy not picked, got a heap of the ball during the internal, but turned it over a lot.

Lorenz over Mackinlay another interesting one, as Lorenz looked out of favour under old management.

Something like

B: Marshall - Ramm - Jones
HB: Rozee - Aliir - Farrell
C: Burgoyne - JHF - Bergman
HF: Richards - Lukosius - DBJ
F: Lord - Whitlock - Durdin
R: Visentini - Drew - Brodie
I: Mead, Sinn, Moraes, Evans, Wehr, Lorenz, Berry

C: Burgoyne - JHF - Bergman
HF: Richards - Lukosius - DBJ
F: Lord - Whitlock - Durdin

Horne-Francis forward, Bergman in the middle, Wehr on the wing.

To me it looked like the Visentini/Sweet battle was pretty even in the internal trial. But Visentini was getting under Sweets skin a couple times behind the play. I wonder if that mongrel was what gave him the edge here.

Sweet and Rat are in our best 22.
There will be some evaluating of fringe players during preseason.

The Soldo trade is the only genuine flop.

The Sweet trade was a win.

BZT plus steak knives for Duursma is break even so far.

Ratugolea for pick 25 plus steak knives may still work out okay based on some of the form we saw from him last year.

My guess is Sweet and Visentini are neck and neck for a spot. Sweet is the incumbent so they want to see more of Visentini to convince selectors otherwise.

BZT probably managed and still working his way back into the best 23 after a horror 12 months of injuries.

Ratugolea would 100% be in the best 23 but is injury prone and they want to give Ramm a look.

That might be the worst forward line in the AFL. We're proper stuffed if Georgie goes down for any time.

That’s actually a valid question with MG being the main man up forward last year and with Willie now gone it doesn’t leave a lot to kick a winning score.
Berry and Whitlock should provide much more up forward this year, Luko ditto (basically didn’t have him last year), added Durdin and most likely stephenson. JHF up forward more this year.

Lost Rioli and finlayson and will be a better team and culture for it. Yes Rioli was second in our leading goal kickers but I’m still annoyed how poorly he presented himself last year and who knows what effect having someone so blatantly checked out in the team had for the overall team morale. Would replace Rioli for Durdin alone in a heart beat.
